Bad service, of course. Like, when you want to return a t-shirt, the salesgirl gives all kinds of reasons (her boss isn't there, come back tomorrow maybe she's there, I can't keep the t-shirt here cuz there is no space, etc) just to delay you from getting what you want, even though you are entitled for reimbursement. Basically, as if she is doing you a favour instead of just doing her job.

Don't shop there anymore.
Write to the parent company with your complaint.

I think Pritty_pussykat's answer was the best! But I'd add that you should definitely get the salesgirl's name and her boss' name (and title). You never know what she might have said to her boss when she got her...."there's this woman out there who's calling me names" or some crap like that.
Some stores are really uptight about returns though and some are managed and even owned by truly rotten people. One time my boss (the owner) actually accused a woman of having stolen something she was trying to return. I was mortified.
My point is that the problem could go all the way up, and in that case, just make a point of telling EVERYONE you know not to shop there.

Go on Google and ask for the corporate headquarters address, call the 800 number and ask whoever answers if the answer you got is the correct one to send a letter of complaint. They may even give you a name to write to. Write a letter with the address of the store you had a problem with and preferably the store code, which you can also look up on the net, names of the people involved, days and times, and examples as well as how you were effected. I just did this yesterday with a "lovely" letter to Aetna Health because I've been trying to fill a prescript through their mail service for seven weeks now. Oh....also include the name of anyone who really helped in the situation. They should get something good out of it.

Unfortunately there is little you can do. Best to just take your business elsewhere or try to shop on-line so you can get around the attitude factor.
I am sorry if you have experienced this sort of thing. There is a kind of person who really gets off by giving themselves the illusion of power and thrills at the opportunity to make others feel bad - they are the true "bottom feeders" in this existence. It doesn't even pay to make a big deal about it because it just attracts others who will love the "exclusivity" and it makes the bottom feeders more money and more successful for their rudeness. Maybe if we ignore them, they will go away.
Peace!

If it's a national chain,go on line to their web site and click on "contact us" and write out your complaint. I had the same experience when trying to buy a treadmill at Dick's sporting Goods. I can't believe how apathetic help is these days. Customer Service is Gone with the Wind!

Protest peacefully. Bring candles and a week's supply of food with you to the shop along with what you want to return. Refuse to leave the shop until they let you return the shirt.

Sending an email to head office can make a difference. But the bottom line is that if they don't care, they just don't and all you can do is tell everyone you know not to shop there :)

maybe she did not want to help you. Of course she has the ability to help you, write a letter to the stores main office/headquarters and decribe how much you were inconveinenced and make sure you stress that in your letter and demand your money back-don't forget to include dates and times of the incident.
