My daughter's latest seems to be one of the Blues Brothers. She brought him to dinner, he wore dark glasses all the time he was visiting, tripped over our dining room rug and put his fist into the jelly trifle (My favourite- We ate round the hole) smoked Marlborough ciggies throughout and kept his hat on, the whole time. I mean, I can get down, daddio, but is this behaviour cool or rude?

This is a question that has been bugging me for some time- when someone's spouse dies, is it appropriate to still wear your wedding ring? And do people wear their engagement rings after they've been married?

Okay, my boyfriend and I are 3 months and 21 days apart.

We have been together four four years now.

When he turns 18 and I'm 17 will it be illegal for those 3 months and 21 days or do those rules apply for relationships that occured before the age limit?

Anybody got any good tips for getting blood stains out of carpet? Will pulling up the carpet & scrubbing with bleach remove all dna trace evidence if cleaning it is no longer an option? Also . . at what temperature do bone fragments & harder items turn to ash? Mapp gas . . oxegen torch . . bbq . . fire pit . . etc? Can dna tests be done on ash? Are teeth tougher to 'get rid of' than bones? Any help would be great.

I do. I find it profoundly disrespectful when a man or woman says something like "Hi, beautiful!" or "You're gorgeous!" to my wife--right in front of me. My wife IS beautiful, but she's not a piece of meat, and she's not 'on the market'. Why are people so rude?

i find that no matter where i am or who it is ,that people tell you that info.but when you ask someone what they are doing or where they are going in general they are mostly vague.when somebody leaves the room to use the bathroom ,wouldn't it be better to say ,i will be right back or excuse me for a minute?

Now, i can see you being sexy with your mate at home, or in your special location. But to come in public showing what God & the surgeon gave you is tacky and classless.

We are hosting my mother-in-law from Canada for two weeks in October. We are having my family over to meet her. It is also our son's 2nd birthday. We are planning on having the gathering outdoors (weather permitting). Would it be wrong to treat it as a potluck and ask everyone to bring a covered dish? Any ideas on what types of food would be good to serve?

I've lived here for 2 years and I'm moving. I've met some truly great people here but if I had to speak generally, I'd say this part of the country is truly the most unwelcoming and unfriendly to those that they do not know.

What I mean is if the culture or location is a must have a car, go to bar, go to club, attend the local church/synague, etc must one FAKE doing it in order to socialize, or accept that in order to maintain dignity of my own identity i must remain recluse?

Perhaps it's that tale of needing to like oneself in order to get another to like, but does that mean i must stay alone if i don't like myself as well, if so, what's the point of trying?

Notes, I have been to groups, therapists, shrinks, etc and have had this whether living in rural, suburb, or large urban environment.)
