One of my close co-workers (known for 6 years) father past away and the wake is tomorrow---however I already have plans to go to a baseball game and if I go to the wake there is no way possible for me to get to the game (tickets paid for already and everything). I am sending flowers to the funeral home---is this OK? I feel extremely guilty, however I've had these other plans for a couple months. I've never even met her father. Is it rude for me to not go? Help!

I am going to a party in about 2 weeks at a close friends house but, I won't know a lot of people there and I am worried of how they might judge me. Most people at the party are in university or college while I am married and still completing my high school but we are all the same age. I don't care what they think about me, but how should I defend myself if anyone puts me down? Because even people I know look down upon me since I married young and I just stopped talking to them (due to other reasons as well.) Please be respectful in your answers because nobody knows my current situation.

I have noticed that young drivers today either have never been told the meaning of a stream of cars all driving in a row, with there head lights on, or else they find it amusing to cut into a funeral procession and cause havok. What has happened to the days where people would pull over out of respect for a hearse? how come so many young people completely ignore funeral processions or cut into funeral processions? how many people find this really disrespectful and annoying?

I should mention, we work in a (somewhat) professional office. I find it disrepectful and just plain gross. Am I being "old fashioned" here? Should I complain to our supervisor??

I worked as Manager at a bar until yesterday... everyone that worked there got messages saying "sorry...all shifts cancelled" we were told by sms message!

I was told "all shifts cancelled... locks changed call ASAP"

Now the owner will not answer her mobile phone ... we want to know when we will be paid (should have been today). Finding it hard not to 'hate' - and very annoyed on behalf of all those people that felt they worked for me and have not been paid. I have the business fax number and know she runs 2 other restaurants.. I dont want to storm down and scream blue murder... what would you do? (btw I am in Australia)

He is hot, and he agreed to to out with me tonight...he does not smoke cigarettes, but I do. I am not sure how he feels about women who smoke, but I am not about to stop smoking...I want him and my cigarettes both..I want the best of both worlds....
Should I bring up the issue with him on our date and tell him how I feel or just let it go...I don't want to lose him and I don't want to stop smoking either...we have been flirting with each other for a while now...and I want him soooooooo bad!!!

I was thinking that a tape worm, possibly in pill form, could be consumed to lose weight. There would also be a pill to flush them out after the goal weight was acheived. I am not saying this would be a healthy alternative to working out but definately no more dangerous than some of the diets already out there. I am thinking of patenting this idea. The hard part will be getting people to consume the tape worm. People that want it bad enough will do it. Any new ideas or concerns are appreciated.

In the movie Blast from the Past, Brendan Fraser's character remarks that a lady or gentleman always does their best to ensure that everyone around them is comfortable, or something very close to that. What, in your opinion, makes someone a lady or a gentleman? I am not talking about bloodlines, or money, or expensive clothing here. I am talking about what ordinary people can do to behave in an extraordinarily classy manner. Please explain your remarks, so I am able to clearly understand what you are saying.

Thank you.

If you just happen to see him crossing the road.
If so: at which speed?

Or would you be afraid for prosecuters, because you'd kill someone.

I REALLY don't like my job, I've only been working there six weeks, but I'm afraid to give my two week notice. (Technically less than two weeks more like 11 days.) This is my first job, so I really don't know how. Do you just tell your boss, or what? Plus, when is the best time to tell my boss? I work at a fast food restaraunt, and I don't know if its tacky to come in at any random time and tell them. Do I give a reason. Advice anyone? Oh, and I plan on doing this tommorrow, if it matters.
