If you're too packed in to keep all facing the same direction. When you shuffle to fit one more person on - ugh - and you can't keep your neat little rows of all facing forward. Then you can turn sideways or whatnot, but not just turn around and have a staring contest.

Depends on the side of the elevator!
The limit is when it's too crowded. And an elevator is considered as too crowded when you can't scratch tourself casualy (meaning you have to take care of your arms).

i feel an elevator is like a public bathroom meaning no talking even when im with people i dont say a word
