What is something you hate about the society? (Something you would want to get public attention on and criticize if you could)

"Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism. Their obsession with racial group identity is inherently racist. The true antidote to racism is liberty. Liberty means having a limited, constitutional government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims. Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence, not skin color, gender, or ethnicity."

This is what Ron Paul says and I agree with him. What do you think?

A nation that once prided itself on a sense of rugged individualism has become uncomfortably obsessed with racial group identities.

The collectivist mindset is at the heart of racism.

Government as an institution is particularly ill-suited to combat bigotry. Bigotry at its essence is a problem of the heart, and we cannot change people's hearts by passing more laws and regulations.

It is the federal government that most divides us by race, class, religion, and gender. Through its taxes, restrictive regulations, corporate subsidies, racial set-asides, and welfare programs, government plays far too large a role in determining who succeeds and who fails. Government "benevolence" crowds out genuine goodwill by institutionalizing group thinking, thus making each group suspicious that others are receiving more of the government loot. This leads to resentment and hostility among us.

Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than as individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism.

The true antidote to racism is liberty. Liberty means having a limited, constitutional government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims. Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence - not skin color, gender, or ethnicity.

In a free society, every citizen gains a sense of himself as an individual, rather than developing a group or victim mentality. This leads to a sense of individual responsibility and personal pride, making skin color irrelevant. Racism will endure until we stop thinking in terms of groups and begin thinking in terms of individual liberty.

my friends think fighting is what makes a man, ok, only animals fight. i am not an animal. nor am i a satanist. kids at school seem to think not fighting is girly and gay. and it seems their christian parents taught them in their ways of hating gays, ok i'm not gay, i'm 100% straight, but just saying it apparently doesn't make it true. i guess what a7x said is true "he who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man" and if you are the alpha beast, you don't need to worry about not being a man. why is this so. also, having emotions is gay, so is thinking, reading for fun, studying, listening to metal, watching anime, talking about feelings, talking about politics, wearing a leaf (not flower) designed tie, open-mindedness. I am a fat, acne-faced, long haired, metal head who loves video games, smart but not a nerd, who wants to know what is the true definition of a "man".

I take American Literature class and we have an independant reading assignment to do, and one of the books is Black Like Me by John Griffin. im the only black person in the class and i haven't read the book yet but I feel as though wearing black makeup for a week trying to see what its like to be black isn't the real thing and trying to explain to white people what its like to be black through a white man's eyes is not the real thing. Because you can't wear face paint to change your race for a while to see the other side....

idk...am i wrong for thinking this?
...should i read the book?

I have to bring some sort of "artifact" and I've chose to bring in some Irish music. I've all ready found The Chieftains and am looking for other bands and songs with that same old country Irish sound to it. Any suggestions?

I know of a young woman who considers herself punk or goth, and gave her 20 month old baby a mohawk. Her grandparents are very upset about this and says she's encouraging the kid to grow up to be rebellious. agree or disagree?

Shes my dads half sister, when he passed away me and my mom tried to be close to her. Shes 65, never married, has 6 cats, long grey hair, belongs to an ashram.
first weird thing:
she invited us to her house, there was a photo of her guru on every wall, even the bathroom. she told use she has no food in her house and we would have to purchase our own (this is after 20 yrs of my Mom inviting her for dinner and taking her out to dinner)

2nd weird thing:
She writes me an email in all caps, saying "YOU WILL NEVER HAVE MONEY CAUSE U DONT WORK HARD"
at the time i was 26, grad student, with a full time job as a marketing researcher. I emailed her back all my degrees, past jobs, my resume and refrences, I told her i do work hard and will have money due to my hard work, skills, and degrees.
She writes back, saying, Im happy to hear that

3rd weird thing:

I think hispanics should be in ww2 movies. 500000 have been reported to be in ww2 but not in ww2 movies. I think directors should find the veterans and hear thier stories before these hispanic veterans of ww2 time is up.

Do you know any step-siblings who married? I was acquainted with one couple (much older) who are step-siblings who are married. Each was married previously to another person for at least 10 years and has children from their first marriage (they don't have children together). I don't know them well, but they seem pretty happy together. Any stories?

PS #2: No, I don't have any step-siblings.
