Hi I just want to ask a question as a black alternative girl, why do black kids think its werid that im punk. They always say that i act white, and even my own family tells me that, I think the whole hiphop style is dumb. Also I dont get why guys will call me attractive, I have a thin figure, yet they go for those type of girls even if their ugly as ****?

Continue being yourself and enjoying the things you do. There's no such thing as acting "white". Don't let others discourage you. Special people ALWAYS stand out from the crowd. Good luck. 2D

well it seems you have an esteem problem or you wouldnt we asking why men find you attractive? Isnt it enough that they do? And what kind or silliness is this saying you are acting white? I figure hip hop, punk, goth, emo or whatever is all the same to me. Young people wanting to stand out. You wouldnt look to me any different then any other young person. And you have a problem calling anyone ugly you are mean.

it's because they are narrow-minded and caught up in stereotypes. I dont understand why people just cant be themselves regardless of race. People of a certain race hold themselves back by thinking that they must fit into the stereotypes that society puts them under. rock on you!!
also, whats wrong with guys finding you attractive? maybe you really are. The guys where I'm from dont find all thin girls attractive even if they are ugly.

Well most teens want to be a part of something and most teens want to be a part of whatever they consider to be the norm. I suspect that a white teen who was very much into the hip hop culture would get some slack from his or her white friends for trying to act "black (whatever that means).

yeah I had some similar issues because I always painted my nails black and listen to panic at the disco or kelly clarkson instead of 50cent and ludacris....not that i don't enjoy them as well I just like what I like.....perhaps those that are pointing fingers at you and making fun of you are really jealous inside because they aren't brave enough to explore new venture that are "outside the normal" for blacks which shows that they believe the sterotypes about blacks and what they should listen to or dress like...just be you honey

I know, I'm so tired of people thinking that the color of your skin determines your personality. I'm white and I'm mostly into hip hop(I like rock too, though) so I get that too once in a while.

I know blk kids who are punk, some are skaters, some are rockers, etc. Maybe you need to expand your horizons. Maybe you need consider that you're projecting and don't realize it (if you think they're dumb, it's likely that they know it). You don't have to be hip-hop to embrace your culture. Generally speaking, no one respects people who are different no matter their race.

as for those who moan your different it's because people are scared to come outside their little box and try new things,so give them people the two finger treatment.
as for the guys calling you attractive it's them trying to sleep with you just give them the two fingers too.

Just show yourself as a nice person. That's the best way to go.

you don't sound like you respect them either.... so why the **** should they "respect" you? like, what good have you accomplished? just because you happen to be punk doesn't mean you deserve some accolades.

get over yourself for once please.
