Since Hispanic is not a race.

Are Puerto Ricans Black or White?

I am wondering this because my grandpa is Puerto Rican. He looked White but his dad looked kinda Black but his mom looked more White.

Our ancestry has ties to many groups. I've heard the following:
The Taino indians
Various African countries (Which is one reason why skin tones, and the ratio of African blood can vary a lot depending on the person)
The italians,
The Spanish
And possibly more.
The people within the group vary a lot. I'm 1/2, so to go back through what I am would take awhile.

Puerto Ricans can be black or white just like Americans can be black or white and Brazilians can be black or white. It's an ethnicity, not a race, just as you pointed out.

Puerto Ricans are people from Puerto Rica or of Puerto Rican descent.

I think it's considered a part of latin america.
