I have to bring some sort of "artifact" and I've chose to bring in some Irish music. I've all ready found The Chieftains and am looking for other bands and songs with that same old country Irish sound to it. Any suggestions?

Oh there's plenty...the Chieftains are probably the best if you're looking for instrumental. Old Blind Dogs are grand too.
If you're looking for traditional songs definetely go for the Dubliners...the Clancy brothers are famous but kind of crappy...
If you're looking for Paddy Rock or Celtic metal go for Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and the Pogues.
There's so much to say...use youtube and check these bands out...
Great songs are Wild Rover, Irish Rover, Paddy on the Railway, Fields of Athenry, Rocky Road to Dublin, Finnegan's wake, Seven Drunken Nights (all Dubliners classics)...as for the Chieftains everything is great but I'd suggest "O'Sullivan's March"...as for Celtic rock great songs are If I Should Fall from Grace with God, Turkish Song of the Damned, Sunny Side of Street (all Pogues hits)
