I live in DC and its a tie between DC and NYC. In DC there are Salvadorains, Jamacains, Ethopians, Somalians, Pakistanians, Koreans, Vietnamese, and Mexicams.

There is a lot of talk this week about American's gun/violent culture. As an American, I would like to know how violence for entertainment purposes is viewed in Europe.

It seem that here, violence is glorified. Movies, TV, and video games are all dominated by violence, specifically gun violence. Is is much different in Europe and how so?

Inconsiderate, ignorant, self-centered, obnoxious, heartless, disgusting, moron,
just plain stupid this is how I feel about the people that criticize people and they could stand for correction they self .people need help not criticism........ please tell me why are some people are just plain down to earth ignorant? And whats make it so bad they as question their self but they have the nerve to criticize others.......

Yes, I love men with long hair. My boyfriend have long and wavy black hair that I play in all day. Sometimes I get jealous because his hair is a longer than mines.

I am fifteen years old boy and don't know what career I will have in the future. I don't even know what I want to be. I don't love any career more than the others. I have nothing to narrow down my choices. Worse, my family keep pushing and asking me what I want to be. It gets to the point where they are the one whose giving me ideas about what I should do. I feel indifferent about all the choices. I don't want to be involved in a career just because they chose it for me. I want to make my own desicion but still, I don't have a single clue about where I am heading. So, is waiting enough?

A fairly random question perhaps! I was having a chat with a friend and we could not come to an agreement about where English people get blonde hair and blue eyes from? Was it the Romans? Scandinavians? Or another culture entirely? We originally thought the Romans... but then we began to question this as Mediterranean people particularly italians are famed for having dark hair, dark eyes and olive skin!

Anyone shed any light on this?

Does having dark or darker skin automatically put you in the one category? How mixed (or not mixed) does your ancestory need to be considered 'white' or 'black' or a 'person of colour'?
I ask because I have met people who I would have thought of as 'white' yet claim to be black and vice versa.
(This is a serious question and only serious answers need reply.)

In this day and age of equality - can someone tell me why :
**Why is it ok to claim "Black Power" but "White Pride" is racist?

**Why is BET (Black Entertainment Television) OK and Ebony and Jet magazine fine but caucasians are racist if we do the same???

**Why is it acceptible for associations like NAACP , UNCF, etc to promote themselves but if caucasians had "Help whites go to college" we'd be sued?

I am not racist. Actually, I think we could all still be promoting civil rights still today. One day we will all hopelfully live to say that we are all just PEOPLE. Not white people or black or hispanic...

I move that "race" is removed as an option on applications for gov't services. Then the gov't has to simply see us as all just people. Input please?

Or are there and I just don't know it? I've always been into sci-fi and fantasy... I read a lot... and I've only read one where the main character was black (it's called Otherland) and that wasn't really a children's book either.

My Aunts grandchildren came over from ireland over the summer and we got talking about the shape of certain countries when looked at from space and me being an idiot went and said "oh yes and Ireland is shaped like a flying pig" - i didn't mean to offend anyone and the boys laughed, but then i thought maybe it could be considered racist, or politically incorrect!I didn't mean it to offend and to my knowldge i don't think they were, but is it offensive? Im hearing that he started to kill people because of his girlfriend, people are saying that his girlfriend broke up with him or something and he went looking for her and he went into her classroom and killed her first, then he just start to kill others, but on the other hand, I didnt hear that story on the news.
