The letter 'G' simply explained means Geomatrician, a single word, generic term, for the creator of all things.

Freemasonry utilises many generic terms to enable the many different faiths to be together without conflict, for example to a Christian the "Geomatrician" is the God of the Bible, to a Muslim the "Geomatrician" is Allah.

The 'G' is normally displayed in the centre of the lodge, as the Geomatrician is the centre of all things.
