my question is not exactly a question, well maybe it is. i watched the news the other night and seen how korean churches are donating money to the victims' families. but why, i know they want to show their support and all that but, it's kind of in a way, seems like they feel obligated because one of their own kind caused so much tragedy. i just feel bad for them, asians that i know are mostly quiet and bother no one and look, one korean turned animal ruins it for all.

I never thought about it before, but when I said it in front of three African American ladies, they looked at me funny. I'm mortified! Please tell me I imagined it.

Man, I hate to say it, but Don Imus, as much as his comments were offensive and wrong, really didn't say anything much different from what many rappers have been saying for years. The only difference is that he is a white dude. I think it's right for him to lose his job over his irresponsible and disrespectful comments, but what gets me is that there are so many others (men of color) who have said things just as bad or worse about white women, black women and women in general, who will continue to hold a place of honor in our culture. Don Imus was obviously foolish in doing what he did, but judging him with a double standard isn't cool. If racism and mysogyny are really as unacceptable as many are suddenly claiming because of Imus, at what level are we willing to challenge it. It's cowardly to turn one middle aged white guy into a scapegoat when many artists from our own community are just as much a part of the problem.

when rosie first said this and people had a problem with it, she got very defensive and said, "but i do accents of everyone. "
first- Ching Chang Ching Chong, is not an accent. Its an ignorant interpretation of a language. (doesnt she know how to speak english? anybody with or even without a dictionary should know what accent means) If she said, " i do impressions of languages" then that was a horrible interpretation of Chinese. Arent you supposed to be good at what you do, Rosie?
second- i dont hate her. you cant hate someone for their ignorance. i just want to teach her, like she would want to teach me to not say things about plus size lesbians. Now imagine someone saying "Ching Chang Chong Ching" and combining that with a swinging bat...just imagine the pain that Asians in America, myself included, must have felt after hearing her make such a blatant joke of our culture.

In our Human Relations class we have recently been discussing white privilege. Our teacher has given us some great information but no information about how to stop/alleviate white privilege. I have done some research and people have a lot to say about the subject but no help on how to stop it.

Apparently people are leaving the UK like rats off a sinking ship, but do you think that emigrating will make people happier or does unhappiness follow people around?
I'm tempted to think that people's problems follow them where ever they go, but there does seem to be an awful lot of miserable people in this country and maybe getting out is the answer. What do you think?

i know the term is "tickle torture"....and I'm not talking about the myths of what was allegedly the case in china...but is there actually a case where "tickle torture" can be fun?...for example, you getting tickled by a group of friends, tickled by your mate, (boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife.)....the reason I ask, cause typically when you are being tickled it is someone close to you...friends, relatives, mates...so in this context can tickle torture actually be enjoyable...right?....explain your answer
