How do you feel about Rosie O'Donell's " Ching Chang Ching Chong" comment on the View?

when rosie first said this and people had a problem with it, she got very defensive and said, "but i do accents of everyone. "
first- Ching Chang Ching Chong, is not an accent. Its an ignorant interpretation of a language. (doesnt she know how to speak english? anybody with or even without a dictionary should know what accent means) If she said, " i do impressions of languages" then that was a horrible interpretation of Chinese. Arent you supposed to be good at what you do, Rosie?
second- i dont hate her. you cant hate someone for their ignorance. i just want to teach her, like she would want to teach me to not say things about plus size lesbians. Now imagine someone saying "Ching Chang Chong Ching" and combining that with a swinging bat...just imagine the pain that Asians in America, myself included, must have felt after hearing her make such a blatant joke of our culture.

well i didnt see it mentioned anywhere else so i thought i'd get a discussion started just to raise awareness b/c, as you can see, not everyone knew about it.

and Imus and the Rutger's bball team? oh my goodness, if anything we're moving backwards. why is race constantly an issue?

Rosie O"Donnell is an obnoxious, ignorant loudmouth. I don't watch The View.

This is O'Donnell's eighth attack on Catholics since September. She has said there is no difference between radical Christians and radical Muslims (9-12-06); she has ridiculed the Eucharist (9-28-06); she has falsely claimed that the pope was in charge of policing miscreant priests since the 1980s and did nothing about them (10-2-06); she repeated the lie about the pope again (10-27-06); she has mocked priestly celibacy (2-7-07); she ridiculed the Eucharist again (2-27-07); she mocked Catholic teaching on the Bible and the Virgin Birth (3-26-07); and now she is complaining about too many Catholics on the high court.

Being half White/Oriental I have no problem with her saying this but do have a problem with her being a lesbian and telling other people's children that they're ok. Some of us have been raised to respect the sanctity of marriage, traditions, cultures, history, and future will involve that people procreate with like individuals to maintain the sanctity of it. The reason why they won't come down on her like they did Imus (to me his punishment was too severe, will they out Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton for their anti-semitic comments or will the double-standard hold? link 1) is that she'll hide behind the lesbian shield which the media is to scared to challenge. I personally think it's very bigoted that only people of their race can make fun of themselves and White people, there should be no double-standard let the comics make the joke and if nobody likes them there are many other things to do to entertain themselves but I don't think it should cause them to get fired, if this is the case then their bigotry is justified because we restricted their free speech which is what this country was build on, the Bill of Rights.

It just shows how little control some people have over themselves and what they say. They think that they're completely innocent, and when they are corrected, they panic and look for a way out of the racism they are spreading, but they're not intelligent enough to apologise after they made a public display of their bigotry.

It was a total joke. Comedians do it all the time, ESPECIALLY Asian comedians. Although I wasn't watching (who really ever watches Rosie?), I bet a lot of people laughed at it at the time. And I bet a bunch of them were Chinese. The Chinese I know are a fun-loving people, and if it's not Rosie making the joke about their language, it's themselves.

Those who turn a joke into a point of criticism... "m sik dak siu", we say in Cantonese. Don't know how to laugh. Ha ha...

i am from the uk and yet the view isn't shown where i live, but if she did say that, then she is a vile, ignorant loud mouth who doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut. why does she feel it's neccessary to behave in such an appalling fashion? why does she feel she have to be controversial and get on people's backs all the time? she has gone far enough- it's about time someone stood up to her and told her off

Being Asian in this day and age, I realize that people will do just what they will and I can't control them. I don't like those racist remarks, but it's a waste of time arguing with those types. Ignorant people can't be argued with because they just won't get it.

I try to ignore her as much as possible.I wonder if she would like it if somebody made fun of chubby Irish-Catholic lesbians ? I didn't find her Archie Bunker like comment to be amusing at all.

Why let that fat ***** bother you? She is a dirty pig. I wouldnt spit on her fat useless *** if she were on fire.That nasty, self-serving dog makes me sick, i would love for her to go to a foreign country, so she can wonder why she berated this one.
