That is what has been said for years and unlearned people accept it as fact. It seems like that is the way America is. I know of people in northern states that appear to be more 'country' than my friends and I but we are the ones who are called country. (I reside in Mississippi). May God Bless U.

because our left wing media asses like to show us as white trash and they make fun of us. I live in northern michigan and they kind of remind me of southerners....while not really warm people they do have qualities that southerns have. In this small town, they are family oriented, they ignore the bastards at the aclu and have statues of Christ in public, lots of nativity scenes and so forth. Also, there are many gays and liberals living here and both seem to get along fine. Even in small southern towns you will find that blacks, whites and so on get along fine just as they do here...it is not until you get into the cities where the media needs to create news and report the worst of all races....and by the way..I like the confederate flag. it reminds me of the years when you did not have wall to wall illegals....ruining the south...in northern michgan....not many illegals here.

Because people are morons. They don't realize that there has been a distinct culture in the Southeast since before Europeans came. Stereotyping is laziness.

I don't think that at all. I lived in the South for a while, and it's really not all that different from the North.

People are more secure thinking they know other people. It is easier to believe one knows other people when those other people are lumped together.
