I work at a retail store near my house and I see a lot of kids who I go to school with. They all ask for the discount even the ones who don't like me. I only give the discount out to my family and my closets friends. I find it weird that people who said that "Act white" because I'm in AP classes now want to be my friends because I have some money in my pockets. This is a good way to know who you're real friends are.

what is the difference if u use one or the other term? people seem to get reamed if they use the term 'colored people'...while saying 'a person of color' seems acceptable?

I'm Jamaican and Dominican. And people are always confusing me for a Braziallian girl or a lady form Ethiopia. People say that I don't look like I'm a Black American woman because my hair is natural and I have very exotic foriegn accent. I don't really have an accent. Has anyone been confused for another ethinicty?

Why does Seattle not want NASCAR Racing and not like the NASCAR Culture to come to Seattle?????
NASCAR will bring a new culture, tax paying base,revenues and income from taxes. Seattle is supposedly a liberal society that is in favor of "embracing" new cutures regardless if they are legal or illegal?
You will find the (colored gangsta Rap Culture, Asian gangs, there that have NOT been protested, illegal aliens who pose a drain on the tax base in regards to public services such as school, health, un-insured motorists, etc.

Why is this supposedly openminded society NOT embracing this culture

Well I don't know abot the rest of you, but at the age of 25 I'm thinking, 'Wasn't going out on a saturday evening easier and way more fun when I was a teenager?' It's not the company, I have better friends now than I did back then but there's:
- the alcohol fuelled violence
- 19 yr old chav women lying on the ground, legs akimbo, lack of
underwear clearly showing
- increasing drinks / entry prices
- the smoking ban coming up (I've quit, but still hang with smokers).
I mean really.
Now I love living in the city, but we're going to have to find a new national past time because fri/sat night on the town is getting OLD.
Anyone else old before they're time and yearning for the good old days??

Certainly don't mean this as any kind of insult, but it's impossible not to notice that Muslim countries not only lag behind in inventiveness and industry, but their music and art is terrible. Why? Does it have anything to do with their religion or is it just cultural?

I'm Brazilian and I wonder why are African-American males so aggressive. I don't see that with African-Brazilians. Maybe it's because they suffered a lot with prejudice back in the days, with separate bathrooms and stuff...but that's over. African-Americans have just as many opportunities as White Americans.
African-Brazilians don't even have their own tv channel (like BET or the now-defunct UPN) but there's not negativity, we all get along. So....why is that?

Indians take pride in saying that their civilazation is ancient.We had Nalanda,Takshashila,and of course Mahanjo Daro.But nothing that has helped mankind in general.Take the following cases.The white race invented Penicillin,locomotive,flying machines,telephone,electric bulbs,TV and even the sewing machine.Of course one can add so many hundreds of others to the list and the latest of course the internet.I am Indian(not an American native Indian)and I keep wondering why.Our neighbour china has succeeded in some fields but not us.I would like to know,if at all we have done so and if not ,why have we lagged so far behind in helping mankind in general.Prasad.ahmedabad.India.

fla. could be cuban and mexican and speak spanish, the deep south could be all black and california could be for asians and beach bums, oh and whacked out hollywood which should be fenced in instead of the mexican border. wouldn't that work for you. i would love that.

Whites? Blacks? Jews? Hispanics? Middle Easterners? Asians? Indians from India? or other groups you can think of.

My opinion: Without being bias, I have to say Whites because of KKK, Red Necks, Southerners, Neo Natzies(skin heads), Omish, I can't think of other race having all those hates groups like that.

not just white people, all people, blacks evenmore so. just because im black i have to talk loud speak inproper english and have an enormous ***. and if i dont, "im not keeping it real"
i have had friends of all races and i love being open minded. im tired of people telling me that i "act white" or im not proud of being black. I think if your a proud african american you would be true to yourself instead of reinforcing stereotypes. dont get mad at a white person if they call you ghetto if thats how ur acting.
