I think you mean "are". Why are there still cannibals in Africa. And I wasn't aware that there were cannibals in Africa.

I just looked it up. It says, cannibalism is still believed to be practiced in remote areas of New Guinea. It was practiced until recently (no explanation as for how recent) in western Africa. Several reasons: one, limited food, or punishment for crime, another for 'magic'...hope this answers your question!

I dont know, but I read a story a few days ago about a black man that ate his kids (in Africa)...That's pretty barbaric.
