I'm sorry if you even have to ask if you should report that person. Of course you should! If he/she was stealing it from you wouldn't you feel like you have the right to know it. There has to be a line drawn in the sand somewhere and this is way over the edge. How will it look when it's found out and you knew and didn't say a word. What if your employer finds out there is a big shortage and can't tell who did it and you are blamed? Many people think they are smart enough to steal but accounting methods usually cause that person to get caught. If you stop it now, it may not be a felony but the longer it goes on the worse it will be when they are caught stealing a huge amount of money. Yes, it's sad if there are children at home but what kind of morals are they being taught by a parent who is a thief? The kids wouldn't know about this but when a dishonest person is raising them, it will rub off. Do the right thing. It will feel much better than you think it will.

Your saying that this person is doing this several times a day does that mean to the tune of $40.00 each time boy this could add up to a real lot of money going missing and if you know about it you could be charged with being guilty by association you have got to speak up on this matter it's the moral thing to do would you liked to be robbed every day ?????

Yes. If the company finds out you knew of the theft they can fire you too. I would perhaps first let that employee know that what they are doing is illegal, if they need help with money you will help them find some aid. However, if they continue to steal from your employer you will have to report them.
