Well I don't know abot the rest of you, but at the age of 25 I'm thinking, 'Wasn't going out on a saturday evening easier and way more fun when I was a teenager?' It's not the company, I have better friends now than I did back then but there's:
- the alcohol fuelled violence
- 19 yr old chav women lying on the ground, legs akimbo, lack of
underwear clearly showing
- increasing drinks / entry prices
- the smoking ban coming up (I've quit, but still hang with smokers).
I mean really.
Now I love living in the city, but we're going to have to find a new national past time because fri/sat night on the town is getting OLD.
Anyone else old before they're time and yearning for the good old days??

Apologies Catso, didn't mean to make your car or you feel old! But imagine what it's like for me, feeling this way now, imagine how I'll feel when I get to your age!!! lol

I agree with your statement about alcohol related violence and the "chav" element of a night out. I'm sick of it too. That's the government's problem. So tell your local politicians about it, tell them the person who educates people on how to consume alcohol reponsibly gets your vote. (And while you're at it tell them that the person who can make life liveable without binge drinking gets your vote too!)

As for your other complaints, I think the smoking ban is the best thing this government has ever done. I think if we refuse to pay the extortionate entry fees they'll come down again, and look for pubs and bars that have local drinks at reasonable prices instead of buying expensive imported drinks.

Once all those wrongs have been righted it'll be worth going out again!

Yes, it certainly was.
I have to arrange babysitters now, make sure the kids are fed and watered and ready for bed. Going out now is such a hassle.
Don't get me wrong, once I have fought with a 15 year old to get to the bar and her friend spills her alcohopop all over me, I realise that I miss going out on a weekend - not. :-
Definitely, yearning for the old days. Approaching 40 this year - arranged girls weekend away and so can't wait.

Forgive this thought that doesn't apply to your question.

My car was built when your life was only half of what it is now. the good old days mean something very different to me than to you. :)
