Homosexuals have been around as long as straight people, yet they are still regarded as "strange" and "taboo." As America leans farther right, it seems that gay acceptance is taking a step back instead forward.

Note: I am not gay, but I do believe in equal rights for every law-abiding citizen regardless of race, sex, and sexuality....

I being Femme identified think that a butch is not so much about the clothing or hair cut, it is about the attitude, like this, the I am who I am and take me for who I am, feet planted firmly on the ground, shoulders to lean on, ,I can take anything that comes my way, but soft if my girl needs me to be,BUTCH!, ,I do think it is an attitude that butches carry with them in their daily life. I carry a certain attitude with me in my daily life that I dont even think about, I have Sex appeal, that I can turn on and off when I need to I can be an extreem ***** when I want. Ok now that we have the Butch/Femme thing straight. lets get on to other labels. like Andro/Stone/Top / Bottom/and dont fit in any catagory but dont like to be called andro. so they call themselvs Gender queer or Gender Rebels. then theres heteroflexable. What are all these labels, what do they all mean? why have all the Gay people divided themselvs, when we all keep saying we should just be one great big rainbow?

How was it possible for you to "get it up and keep it up." Wouldn't that have been the most repulsive thing ever if you were truly gay? How did you manage?

Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to discriminate at all, just trying to learn more.

Bisexual girls, is dating other girls more difficult or easier because your bisexual? I've heard that some lesbians don't trust bisexual girls as much as lesbian girls. And are your relationships easier than ones with men?

Lesbians, is it easy for you to find real love in the dating world? Or is it more difficult? Or about the same as heterosexuals in the dating world?

Again, just trying to learn, not trying to start some kind of weird fight.

why do gay men like drag queens and why do gay women like "butch girls. Isnt this defeating the purpose of your orentation, if you like dudes that look like girls just get a girl. And for lesbos just get a guy if you like butch girls/

I told my mom I was a lesbian a while back and she dosen't want me to tell anyone about it. I am in college but she is paying for it and she is getting me a car. While I was in class today, she text my and said, "get that lesbian sh*t of myspace right now." She called me later and said that it would upset my grandparents if they found out because they see me as the perfect grandchild. I don't want to hide who I am and I don't want to risk my college education. I plan on transferring to another college out of the city for next semester so I will not have to deal with her. I was wondering what I should do until then? I need advice on how I should deal with this.

I think my friend maybe questioning her sexuality, but it would be really hard for her if she ever wanted to "come out" here are a few reasons why, 1. part of her family is very religious 2. her religion as well as others says that homosexuality is a sin and you will go to hell. 3. her mom and brother died a few years ago and I know she would never want to jepordize her chances of seeing them again (in heaven) and the majority of the people that she deals with would talk about her (in a bad way) if she would ever come out as being a lesbian or bi-sexual so I think she is hiding who she really is because of all these things. Her sister is a lesbian and their religious side of their family deals with it but they do not accept if because of the bible.. they say its a devilish spirit and it can go away if you pray. I would really like to help my friend, because I can imagine how hard it is to have a constant battle with yourself. But I really don't know how to help her.

"Among the ancient Chinese the most
popular literary expression for gay love
was "the love of the cut sleeve,"
referring to the selfless devotion
of the last emperor of the Han dynasty,
Ai-Ti, who cut off his sleeve
when called to an audience
rather than wake his lover, Tung Hsien,
who had fallen asleep across it".

Like this one that claims that male bisexuals don't exist.

I know penii don't lie and all that, but isn't arousal a matter of taste and not something that will come up, so to speak, for all people or situations? Basically they were in an unsexy laboratory environment watching someone else's choice in movies!

I could probably "prove" that many gay men aren't really gay by inviting them to my house, strapping Jack Johnson to a machine, and showing them a NASCAR race, which, after all, *I* think shows a lot of sexy men in snug fireproof suits.

What do y'all think?

I am equally attracted to men as women. The women I have dated in the past are bi as well and have been great with our shared interest. But society seems to look at bi-women with a more gentle approch. I do not want to offend anybody or insult thier intelligence. I am simply just looking for an honest answer and not getting bashed by others. If you are bi, how do you go about finding open minded people to share your life with and have a social circle of friends on the same wave length. This is not all about sex!

I'm not talking about not being interested in them sexually, or not appreiciating their physical beauty, but is there some other thing (personality, attitude, etc) about women (or certain types of women) that bothers you in some way?

all in all my only goal for my daughter (all my kids, 3 others) is that she be extremly happy in whatever she decides to pursue. However this news did throw me for a little loop. She said she is not sure when I asked about her being a lesbian. She also said she did not think it a phase.my question to all f you is this. When one comes to the terms that they may be gay or lesbian does it take a while for you yourself to accept it?

She is our daughter and we are quite proud of her. I am just assuming that she is a lesbian and is having a problem admitting it to herself...so how wrong am I??

From what I've seen, publicily they seem so supportive of each other and empathetic. When they're talking for real, they speak as bad or worse as "homophobics" when talking about the other sex and their preferences. What's up with that?

I’ve been single for 5 months since my last relationship and have been approached by a friend who I use to have a "thing" with. The issue is after our "thing" something went wrong and we ended up fighting. She even threaten to throw me through a glass door. It's all been sorted out now but I don't know if getting involved with her again is such a smart idea. I do like her and I’m physically attracted to her. Should I just give it a shot?
