especially since he knew he woulod be sending most of his creations to this place before he even created us?

I for one believe that Satan is the author of the bible. God cannot possibly be the A sshole that the bible makes him out to be

Just a quick poll on this non-religious holiday:

So, in which category do you picture yourself?

A) Strong Atheist
Beleive that God does not exist.

B) Weak Atheist
Does not hold any beliefs towards the concept of God. Think that the existence or non-existence of God is meaningless.

C) Agnostic
God may or may not exist. In either case, it is impossible to prove. Humanity does not have the necessary tools to reveal the existence of God or its non-existence.

(The difference between B and C is that C is open to discuss the issue in a scientific fashion [excluding creationism].)

I go with C). I think people who are believers or fit in the A) category are fools, since neither is based on logic, but on personnal beliefs. Strong atheists can easily fool people, because they use the same thinking as B, but instead of approaching the question with a scientific and open mind, they start with the premise "God does not exists", the same way beleivers start with "God exists".

Why are earth would anyone with half a brain, and ANY love for their child, send them to Jesus Camp?
If my understanding is correct, she 'brainwashes' them, and turns them into militants. Why would a parent who is supposed to care for, and love their child, subject them to this kind of insanity?
For what purpose?
Is there a long term goal?
I really want to know, so will you please help me understand this fad, or should it be called mania?

I'm a Pagan, so this is a highly important religious quesiton for me. I tend to think maybe Without Humans it would be the end for Wolves, Rattlesnakes and Snow Leopards.... and Without Wolves, Rattlesnakes and Snow Leopards there would be an end to Humans.

If we cast off our bodies then why would we appear as humans in the afterlife? surely we would enter a different state of being?

seems like most questions here seem to degenerate quickly, which usually ends up with 'athiests' and 'christians' etc arguing about each others beliefs.
Why the need for this rather than a civilised discussion where you state your actual beliefs rather than attacking someone elses?

Isn't it better to know the difference so that when you do evil, you have natural guilt over it and then try to avoid it next time? Having ignorance of evil makes you more susceptible to doing evil because you do not recognize anything is wrong with it. Why would God want that? It's like not teaching your children right from wrong and then expecting them to make good decisions without that guidance. It makes no sense.

By the way, if Adam and Eve covered their nakedness because they recognized public nudity as being evil somehow, then why was God letting them run around in the nude to begin with. He was allowing then to do evil and keeping them ignorant about it. Why?

Example: If a Baptist slams catholicism, do you feel irritation with the Baptist who does so? The more one branch of Christianity claims to be the "right" one, do you feel more that they are likely angry/fearful over what they've been taught?

looking at some of the arguments here, it is clear that religions must evolve to survive. bearing that in mind, looking at older relgions i.e. Egyptian, Greek etc.
Why do you think some religions persist and some die out?
is it right to alter beliefs that have been "set in stone" by previous generations?

How is it that you know that the Bible is the actual words of God and not just written by men trying to help control people by instilling fear into them?
How do you know what happens to people after they die- have you yourself died and came back to tell?

Just curious.

i heard that spirits that people see are actually demons masquerading in the form of other peoples spirits. if thats true, then why is it that sometimes a day or night just before some people die, they say they saw a dead relative telling them its time for them to go? was it a relatives spirit or a demon they saw?

It all sounds like Yoga to me. Jesus was speaking about all of these things... "take my YOKE"... and Yoga means "To Yoke."

The yogis are the ones who sit in "Sackcloth and Ashes." Jesus said that this is how to repent... "in sackcloth and ashes."

And if you put John 3:16 in context, it is about the LIGHT of God and Spirit, not sacrifice for sins. Sounds like enlightenment to me.

Haven't these things been taken out of their original Eastern Spiritual context? Why has Christianity moved away from the things Jesus was actually preaching?
