C, C, C, you don't even know the meaning of "box" do you? These angles you question the scripture are so abscure that you force me to strain my noodle just to find a worthy answer to such a complex question.
I'm taking a bling shot here. Are you gathering this GOD Adam&Eve thing soley from the Bible. There is a very informative discussion betwinxt these 3 in Moses of the Pearl of Great Price. This discussion is a translation of a lesson given to Enoch by Moses who was either present or recieved via revelation the discussion between GOD,Adam&Eve.
This teaches me so much about the fall, any time I read it. They only new good, They were pure, like the spirits before being born, before the fall. That opening of the mind, symbolized by eating fruit for our limited understanding...open a bucket of filth to go with the knowledge.
There is the difference between GOD's parenting abilities with Adam&Eve, and any parents after the fall. Including todays bedraggled Moms. The kids are fallen. Each and every one of us are fallen. No we are not punished for Adams transgression...Yes we have the wickedness in our natature because of Adams transgression, but we will not be punished for it on judgment day.
Mankind got the Atonement for to relief the curse of wickedness the knowledge we gained from the fall.
Are little children good? Do they fight, fuss disobey, steal?
Yes, they to are effected by the fall, they are in HIs grace because of the Atonement. THAT is why we must be as little children, Not because little children are sinnless. We must take on His name and accept the gift of Atonement as it is freely given to babes that are not old enough to be baptized.
Adam&Eve my not have had any sex drive before the fall. They were not having kids because She was not menenstrating yet, but that may not be the only reason. Once a sex drive is in place, could that be the reason nudity all of the sudden became naughty?

Eve understood it by what she said at Genesis 3:2 At this the woman said to the serpent: “Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat. 3 But as for [eating] of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘YOU must not eat from it, no, YOU must not touch it that YOU do not die.’” Notice she said "not to touch it" which must have been the direction she got from Adam

Why you question GOD? You are just his creation you can not argue with him. Read the passage that you me understand.
“What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, Stop, you’re doing it wrong! Does the pot exclaim, How clumsy can you be? How terrible it would be if a newborn baby said to its father, Why was I born? or if it said to its mother, Why did you make me this way?” ---- Isaiah 45:9-10 -------

The story of Adam and Eve likely isn't to be taken literally, but to describe the relationship of Man with God and show several different lessons. Anyway, even if you take it literally, you have to understand the symbolism.
Adam and Eve HAD to eat of the fruit of the tree, and God knew they would. The fall from grace symbolizes man's sinful nature. The knowledge of good and evil took away Adam and Eve's innocence, but they also had to eat of the fruit if humanity were to ever evolve.
The whole thing was a test and to demonstrate how even when God makes a direct command/rule, we still have the choice to obey or disobey, and that if we choose to disobey, there are consequences. It's not that God didn't want Man to have knowledge, but He wanted it to occur on His terms. Adam and Eve allowed themselves to give in to temptation from the serpent, and intentionally disobeyed God's only rule. To add insult to injury, Even then tried to place the blame on the serpent and Adam tried to place the blame on Eve. The first instance of passing the buck.
I enjoy the story, because it shows that even God has children that He has trouble disciplining. It makes me feel better about my difficulties parenting three small children ha ha ha.

God said He knows us before He forms us..even our thoughts. So, He did want them to know. God made them knowing they would disobey his command to leave that tree alone. Children almost always ( if you havent noticed yet ) do exactly the opposite of what they were told the moment they think the adult is not looking. Mankind has not changed much over the millions of years we have been alive. Mostly what has changed is our physical looks.. and the technology we have come up with.

The truth is they did not know evil until they ate from the tree. They had no sin and did not know what it was. When they ate of the tree they were given the knowledge of evil. It was not that they would know the difference it was that they would know evil.

It wasn't that God didn't want them to know the difference between good and evil, God didn't want them to know evil period. The Garden of Eden had no evil until they ate of the fruit.

He wanted them to understand, so He told them. He did not want them to know evil (in the sense of experience it).
