I've read that some Mormon teachings are that if one is a good Mormon on Earth, when they die they can be elevated to the status of a God of another planet.

First of all, is that truly a Mormon belief? I am not a Mormon so I am asking truly out of not knowing what the answer is or perhaps what might this belief be if stated more accurately.

Secondly, have there been any Mormons good enough to have reached this status of God of another planet, or will there be some day in the future when all those who made the grade will be released into the universe to go rule over their planets, kinda like the land rushes of the early settlers in America (and wasn't that how the first Mormons got established around Utah? Could be a theme or idea in common. I dunno.)

And Thirdly, if there are Mormons right now graduated to God-like status over other planets, are there a whole bunch of them? They must be very far away because we have not found intelligent life on other planets "near" us yet

After all the news events going on in the world in regards to islam - i thought id take a look into the religion as i have always been told by my late-parents and teachers - never judge a book by its cover. I have felt that the media has created a cover for Islam - a very negative stereotype which gets into our minds.
I am a not a muslim neither am i a christian. Therefore i have looked into Islam and its teaching and looking in context of when each bit of the Koran was revealed, and it makes sense.
Do you know the context of 'find the unbelievers and slay them, let no rock be unturned'? This is a classic example of people saying it is proof that it is a violent religion.
The teachings of Islam are delightful to read especially since it was revealed about 1500 years (i think) when there were no rights. It is important to remember that culture is different to religion as people have ulterior motives such as riches.
How many of you have looked into it with an open mind?

Christmas Will Always Be On December 25. The supposed day that Jesus was born. And now we invented Santa that brings children presents on Christmas. And by the way, Santa is a mixed up word of Satan, the devil. How wrong is it to recieve presents on a day that we should be honoring the day Jesus was born. He died on a cross and here we are spending the day playing with our new remote controled airplane or new bike. And no we are not honoring Jesus with presents we are honoring nothing. And people then say that "The true meaning of Christmas is Jesus"-well aparently our world doesn't seem to think so even if they say that phrase. Here's my plan-instead of recieving presents on Christmas day, we should move "Present Day" to either December 1 or New Years Day (Jan 1). It seems alot more appropriate. On the 25 of December children can still have the same amount of time off from school. What is your opionion on that? Kids would still be recieving their presents, just not on Christmas.

The biggest or most expensive is not always the best. What "little something" did you get this year that you really enjoyed receiving? (Other than gift cards or cash!)

If Adam and Eve were told not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil how would they know it was WRONG to eat the fruit. That seems quite unfair to punish them when implicitly they did not even know the difference between good and evil...???

Islam is a third world religion for failed societies.
It suits poverty and ignorance very well. Its problems arise when it comes in contact with civilised peoples.
Bold statement?
Test the proof for yourself; name one civilised, liberal, democratic, prosperous Muslim country that you would be happy to live in? (Particularly if you are a woman.)
No, neither can I.
And I don't think it's just coincidence that all Muslim societies are poor, repressive and tyrannical.
Islam has spent over 1000 years losing to the West in virtually every field of human endeavour: science, commerce, politics, human rights and of course warfare.
Only now, when the lucky happenstance of discovering oil under their feet is creating enough wealth for them to be able to emigrate to the West in their millions and buy western technology (including arms) are they even registering on our sensibilities.
And how? With mindless violence.
Convert to Christianity, and be on the winning side for a change.

Being that it contains some blood I would think that it would be forbidden. However, my girlfriend's family is Jehovah's Witnesses and I joined them for dinner. Of course my gf has vented to me about their no blood policy, especially when her sister had to get major surgery that might need blood. Anyway, that same sister ordered a medium rare steak with red and juices dripping out. I know there must be some blood in there. Why would they deny blood when it can save their lives when they go and eat meats that contain amounts of blood. Is it just me or is this a bit thick?

Nobody accused satan of being stupid, but even HE has to be embarrased by some of the rocket surgeons working for him (Fred Phelps, Motley Crue, etc.)

Who would you say is his best and brightest employee?

I am a Christian but I have observed and I am sure you have too that Muslims seem to be far more serious in their devotion to their religion than christians are. It influences all aspects of their lives but even with born again christians they can often be mistaken for 'worldly' people. Does that mean their religion is true?
Christian women are encouraged to dress modestly - Muslim women DO dress modestly. I am not talking about a full black thing with just the eyes, but even just women with the long skirts etc.
I am NOT condoning terrorists in any way, but muslims (however misguided) are willing to die for their beliefs but Christians seem all too ready to compromise.

I would love to hear some views from Christians.

It seems to be the new trend, of atheists and others, to paint all religions bad because some are obviously bad, vengeful, etc. Yet I find the bible only compares two sorts of religion: impure religions and pure religion, with pure religion notably arriving undefiled and remaining unspotted, as noted in James 1:27. I also find pure wisdom, of "that God" (all light and no darkness) in "Christ" (is the end of the law) reconciling the world unto God, does not law impute sin, as noted in 2Corinthians 5:19.

So then true Christianity would be as grace us as that God in Christ, reconciling instead of alienating, unifying instead of being divisional; And false christianity would be awful lawful, due to not knowing false Christs shall arise to DECEIVE.

Yet there's the matter of a little leaven leavens the whole, and there is no respect of persons with God. So it becomes a global matter, of either all are bad or none bad, just deceived, til they learn not to get deceived by lies(laws).
