I am so glad that you have decided to seek out the truth about Islam. There is so much negative press about the religion. Surely anyone with any sense can realise it can't all be true. I too looked into Islam with an open mind and I have willingly embraced it. Too many people get culture and politics mixed up with religion.

Allah (God)
Islam is the complete submission and obedience to Allah (God). The name Allah (God) in Islam never refers to Muhammad (peace be upon him), as many Christians may think; Allah is the personal name of God.
What do Muslims believe about Allah?
1. He is the one God, Who has no partner.
2. Nothing is like Him. He is the Creator, not created, nor a part of His creation.
3. He is All-Powerful, absolutely Just.
4. There is no other entity in the entire universe worthy of worship besides Him.
5. He is First, Last, and Everlasting; He was when nothing was, and will be when nothing else remains.
6. He is the All-Knowing, and All-Merciful,the Supreme, the Sovereign.
7. It is only He Who is capable of granting life to anything.
8. He sent His Messengers (peace be upon them) to guide all of mankind.
9. He sent Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last Prophet and Messenger for all mankind.
10. His book is the Holy Qur'an, the only authentic revealed book in the world that has been kept without change.
11. Allah knows what is in our hearts.
These are some of the basic guidelines Muslims follow in their knowledge of God:
1. Eliminate any anthropomorphism (human qualities) from their conception of Allah. His attributes are not like human attributes, despite similar labels or appellations.
2. Have unwavering faith in exactly what Allah and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) described Allah to be, no more, no less.
3. Eradicate any hope or desire of learning or knowing the modality of His names and attributes.
4. Believe totally in all the names and attributes of Allah; one cannot believe in some and disbelieve the others.
5. One cannot accept the names of Allah without their associated attributes, i.e. one cannot say He is Al-Hayy - 'The Living' and then say that He is without life.
6. Similarity in names (or meanings) does not imply similarity in what is being described (referents). As a robotics arm differs from a human arm, so the "hand" of Allah is nothing like a human hand, His speech is nothing like human speech, etc.
7. Certain words are ambiguous or vague in their meanings, and thus may be susceptible to misinterpretation. Only those meanings that are in accordance with what is specified by Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him) are acceptable.

I have read the Qu'ran, debated with muslims and 'infidels', spent countless hours looking at websites and as a result I totally reject this vile cult. As with most religions it's origins are dubious - it supposedly grew from the Moon God marrying the Sun Godess hence the crescent moon over some mosques. The Qu'ran was (conveniently) revealed to Mohammed by Allah who before he became a prophet was just your regular uneducated, illiterate. It's simply amazing the benefits he reaped after the Qu'ran was 'revealed' to him. I am assuming you accept it perfectly allright and proper he married Ayesha when she was six, but 'waited' until she was nine to consummate? I believe he was by now fifty four, so just a forty eight year age gap then, nice. I assume you also accept the accepted Islamic practice of 'thighing' or mufakhathat where a man can satisfy himself sexually between the thighs of a child. Should he have penetrative sex with that child he has only to make recompense by paying for his/her upkeep. I could give many, many examples of hadith in the Qu'ran that demand conversion of, or violence toward, 'infidel'. Are you aware that according to Islam the world is divided between Dar-al-Islam and Dar-al-Harb (the domain of war, the Kufr lands). Muslims living in Dar-al-Harb must work to disrupt their host nations until these can be brought into Dar-al-Islam. I further have to assume the subjugation/oppression of women is acceptable, as presumably are: 'honour' killings, female genital mutilation, stonings, beheadings and amputations? Islam considers all 'infidel' as dhimmi, is this also acceptable to you? I have no way of knowing what research you have done but I do know you have been hoodwinked, Islam loves dhimmi like you, spreading their propaganda.

Never judge a book by its cover, indeed. What a fine cliche'.
But you best open the book and see the plot and understand that this is not fairy tales and make believe. We cannot "will something" into being what we want it to be, just because we are searching for something.
The mohamadeans wills the worle to be under subjection to its god. A god that supposedly is the same as the Jewish God, and a continuance in the faith that brought us Jesus the Christ.
Yet, when one looks into the differences that is taught and the archaic backwards mindset of this latter 7th century revelation from a well known and documented man, that was illiterate, a caravan marauder, and a murderer of those who opposed his will and interpretation of god's will. You best look real close, and you had best gather an understanding of the Two other Pillars of we this supposed peaceful faith evolves from.
The Islamic self proclaimed prophet, mo'med said that his reveleations came from Gabriel. Yet, why would the highest ranking Seraphim Angel in heaven declare laws and bylaws and guide lines that are so contrary to the first two revelations of the True God's will for mankind?
In the Old Testament, the Jewish Torah, it all proclaimed that one was coming to be a deliverer. The Christian New Testament declares that Jeshua Ameshia was that one that fulfilled this pointing.
Over the multi-thousands of years, the Torah was written by men of old as the Spirit of the Annointing of God moved them to write their precepts and doctrines. God is a Spirit, so it doesnot throw me whatsoever to think that He moved the spirits of men to write.
Their themes were constant, and their thoughts inline one with another. They spoke of a Creator, one that was Righteous, one that could not by His nature be able to tolerate wrongdoing, murdering and stealing is part of this concept of wrong doing. Look close at mo'mad's life!
It spoke that the nation of Israel is chosen as God's people for to be a light unto the other nations in the concepts of God's oneness. Or monotheism, versus the other cultural's and societies and civilizations being pantheistic, or polytheistic.
Even the name of the god of Islam is taken from the ancient Arabs god of the moon. An idol made of stone, and based on the lunar leanings and worship of the moon's deity.
That is the reason as we can see in the association of the "Crescent Moon" on their depictions of Islam.
You don't have to be a genius to see the associations of ancient moon idols and the new Ollie that is worshipped by the Muhammadeans.
I have read enough on Islam, Judaism, and Christianity to know of them. I was taught in the Marines to know the other side, in order to understand the otherside.
Now, I will not hide my leanings, nor should I. I am not Muslim, I am Judeo-Christo. If you want delightful to read, read some poetry. Read a historical novel, but just remember that if it is written in the Qu'ran, and if it is part of some Imam's interpretation of the Shari'a law, then that in and of itself means that it is part of Islam. So, if they are to spread their backward and archaic laws, and if they are to subject their enemies to the laws of Shari'a then that speaks novels of volumes for itself.
You seek to worship as you will. But study the violent history of your discipleship.
Muhammad did not follow the Old Testament, yet he proclaimed and acknowledged it to be of God. He proclaimed Jesus the Christ as a prophet, yet he wouldnot subject himself to the teachings of such, instead he denied what the prophet (Jesus the Christ ) said of His ownself.
So, here we have a man that claims to be the sole, "Seal of the Prophets" from his god, supposing his god as the God of Israel and of Jesus Christ, but not obeying the Words of the Book.
This to me is sufficient to let me conclude, that Muhammad's he ulterior goals were to unite the Arabs. Not subject himself to the God of his natural and distinct enemies, the Jewis Nation, and even when Jesus Christ came teaching the Kingdom of God is ephireal and not of this world, he (M'med couldnot grasp spiritual ideology).
If one does read the Old Testament, the Torah, we see that there is to be a battle of evermore, as also written and revealed in the New Testament.
Guess which nations are to be gathered against God's Elect?
Iran, led by Russia (an atheistic, anti semite nation) and a coalition of countries that we find still around today, all promoters of Muhamadeanism. Islam.
Go for it.
See you there....or maybe not? It is your choice, stand in the valley of decision if you will.
"But as for me and my house we shall worship"... the Living God of Israel, Jesus the Christ being his Image!
Now you have told, now you have no excuse for your choice, choose to serve life, or choose to serve death. But I at least admire you for wanting to choose, this says that you are seeking to find God.
Be careful, study the Scriptures of Old, study the written history and verify, and lay down the precepts of Islam and compare them to the concepts of what it claims to be continuing...this being the will of God. Then ask" Does it all line up?"

I am glad that you chose to read the Quran, , ,
I guess you are talking abt the ayaat frm chapter 9 ,verse 12-16, , ,which was revealed to the Prophet(peace and blessings be upon him) ,when the unbelievers had violated a treaty between the believers and the unbelievers, and the unbelievers had raged a war, so God [Allah(subhan taalah)] tells the believers to fight . . .just like how a commander of the army will tell his soldiers in a battlefield, to encourage them. . .
Quran is revealed for the whole of humanity, for all times , laws and rules. . .
May Allah Bless you! ! !
we are not supposed to force someone to follow Islam. . . we are suppose to pass on truth to them. . .nd then its up to them to follow or not. . .Allah sayz in the Quran "there is no compulsion in religion". . .
