Scholars say,
Whatever you imagine Allah to be like, be sure he is not like that.
What it means is we cannot comprehend how he is.

Allahu Taala is without an image or form that we can ever think of as the human mind is too weak to understand and comprehend. All description about Allah's "eyes", "hands" etc are just terms told to us so that we can understand the among Allah's functions in our humanly language but the form is not in any human's possession of knowledge Allahu a'lam.

That's why the Holy Messenger said think of Allah's Creations, not how the Creator himself is. And another Hadis of Rasulallah said they will not stop asking (about the Creator) until they even ask who made Allah Taala wal na'udzubillah min dzalik.

You know I started looking at the Ten Commandments and started wondering the same thing. It says that we're not suppose to worship any graven image and so I began to wonder, what am I really worshiping? My answer was I was worshiping and praying to something I could concieve. Then I determined I was worshiping an idol I had placed on the throne of my heart. I was worshiping something created in my image. Yes, we say we were created in God's image, but what exactly does that mean? The Bible states that God is spirit and that God is love. I can't percieve spirit and I don't know if I really understand pure love without sin or agenda. We are finite beings controled by the flaws and dysfunction of sin and it is through that that we percieve the universe or reality. So, although we have the Bible to teach us we comprehend it with a flawed heart which the Bible says is above all things evil. The Bible also says of God, "My ways are not your ways." My conclusion? I had been worshiping, and probably many of us worship a pathetic little god created in my image. I believe this to be the god of religion which seperates rather than unites, wounds rather than heals. and hates rather than loves. I was created in God's image, to understand God I must understand myself. And, I certainly can't do that. What do I worship? To be honest... I don't know! God to me is the ultimate paradox. And in humility, in the midst of my human limitations and sin, I don't know what I worship. God is mystery.

"Bismillahirahmaniraheem"

Allah (God) is a power (beyond compare) beyond everything.
Allah (God) was never created (neither birth nor death, neither beginning nor end).
Allah (God) has no: form, image, gender, color, hue, shadow, faults, differences or separations.
Only Allah (God) is Allah (God). There can be only "One".

Allah (God) can be known only by, "The 99 Beautiful Names of Allah" (Asma'ul-Husna).
These must be established within the inner heart of man and allowed to take form there. This is why 'ibadat, dhikr, and fikr are necessary within the life of all human beings. This is the image that has been spoken of in times past. This is what is meant by created in our image.

...'ibadat, fhikr, and dhikr is the "duty" of one that is truly called a human being!

"Al-hamdu lillah"
Salaams,

Allah is of Noor. We cannot say what image Allah has or what form in he in. He is a light, a noor. the Face of the Lord, Allah, the Prophet saw it the night of the Prophet's ascension as Imam Muslim narrated from Abu Dhar that he asked the Messenger of Allah "Did you see thy Lord? He (the Prophet) said: He is a light; How could I see Him?" In another narration the Prophet said: "I saw the light only".(Related by Imam Muslim) ~!

I wish to die soon, and to go to the heaven soon, as to see MY ALLAH, how that moment would be... I can't even imagine. La ilaha illallah Muhammadur RasulAllah

Allâh is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east (i.e. neither it gets sun-rays only in the morning) nor of the west (i.e. nor it gets sun-rays only in the afternoon, but it is exposed to the sun all day long), whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allâh guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allâh sets forth parables for mankind, and Allâh is All-Knower of everything.

No, he does not, Imam Ali said: in his sermon, Creation of Earth and Sky and the birth of Adam.

"He brought forth creation through His Omnipotence, dispersed winds through His Compassion, and made firm the shaking earth with rocks."

the rest of the sermon is provided in this link:
