No, man wrote the Bible, translated the Bible into other languages, and interpreted the meaning of the Bible. This is a proven and well-known fact, yet religion teaches that man is not perfect while the Bible is and it must be taken literally. Go figure.
Hell is a metaphor, not all of that fire and brimstone crap. We can create our own hell through our own actions that can trap our souls for eternity.
Example #1: A man kills his wife. He is completely guilt-ridden over it. He dies, yet his spirit returns to the place where he kills his wife and he is forced to repeat the action over and over again due to the unresolved guilt attatched to his soul. He is in hell. This is also better known as a residual haunting.
Example #2: A woman is gang-raped and beaten in an alley. She survives, but becomes bitter and full of hatred, never forgiving the ones who abused her. She dies, yet her spirit returns to the alley, constantly trying to get others to see what has happened to her and how she was victimized, due to the hatred that has bound her soul. She is in hell. This is known also as an active haunting.
the Bible warns of these things when not taken too literally. Science is steadily proving them. Religion is a big wall standing in the middle. A loving God does not create hell, we do. The Divine was only trying to tell us what can happen if we don't cleanse our souls. It proved though to be too big of an opportunity for politicians to scare people into conforming and has been twisted beyond the simple loving message that it was meant to be.

Christian Universalism does not teach the existence of an eternal hell. While the purifying fires of hell may be a for a very long time (aionus), they are to burn away the satanic ego. No good parents punishes their child for eternity for a finite crime. Jesus' sacrifice is meant to save us from death and is for all. We were all spiritual children (Hosts of Heaven) of God. A plan was put forth for us to come to earth to be tried and educated. Satan said "Send me and give me the glory
for I will make them obey and save them all". Christ said "Send me and I will give them free agency. I will pay for those who repent and I will give you (God) the glory. The rest will have to pay for their own sins, but all will eventually be saved (every knee will bow). Christ was chosen, so Satan rebelled and was sent to earth with a third of the hosts to tempt and try the rest who would come down and obtain a body. Hell is nothing more than suffering for broken laws.

Whoa, the bible wasnt always like the way it is now. Rabbi's and priest and other authoritive figures, took out, added in, and changed certain parts in the book over the years. Even though GOD knows whats going to happen before it does, HE still lets us exercise our free will, so we can learn from our own experiences and build character as eternal beings.

The gates of hell lock from the inside. Therefore the question is why and how the inhabitants of hell lock themselves in?
The God of the Bible is the God of the history the Bible covers. As the author of that history I agree that God does not come out looking very good. However, the story is a work in process and even God has to start somewhere.

Well stories that were written thousands of years ago, by women hating, war loving, naive crazies... was not really intended to be taken seriously. The old testament is full of hate and venom. That is why when Paul and the "authors" of the new testament created the character "jesus", it was easy for them to discredit the "old testament" and convince people that the "new testament" was the real word of god, and that the "old testament" was to just be ignored....so if by Satan, you mean evil men, then yes you are right, evil men wrote the bible. And since evil men wrote the bible then "hell" only lived in their imaginations.

Hell was designed for the devil and his angels. Not for us.
If we choose to serve the devil, we end up with him. It is our choice.
God does not send us there. We have a choice.
That is why God sent his Son, to pay the price for our sins, so we would not have to spend eternity there. But he is not forcing us to obey him.
If we obey God, we spend eternity with him, automatically.
If we dissobey God, and obey the devil instead, we spend eternity with the one we obey. Simple.

We turned his beautiful Eden into a bickering divided hostile hell, we elected lucifer, barrabas, george bush again and again over the godly he offered to us.....his conscience and hands are clear and clean....
When we accept blame and strive to redeem our souls, we gain salvation easily. When we seek to cast blame upon the blameless and proud God, then in turn in hell we remain.
Poor God.

It's not that Satan is the author of the Bible, but how people interpret the Bible that gives the misunderstanding of hell and what it's true meaning is.
IN ITS original languages, the Bible uses the Hebrew word she’ohl′ and its Greek equivalent hai′des more than 70 times. Both words are related to death. Some Bible translations render them as “grave,” “hell,” or “pit.”
Sheol, or Hades, is thus not a literal place in a specific location. Rather, it is the common grave of dead mankind, the figurative location where most of mankind sleep in death.

Satan is the author of your delusions.
It never entered into God's mind to create a place of fiery torture. Proof of this is at Jeremiah 7:31 where some people were sacrificing their babies to a fire before an idol.
Hell is the grave. Anything else is Satan's work to make you believe something that dumb.
The Bible clearly says the dead are not able to feel or think anything. So how could they be tortured? (Eccles.9:5,10)
God is most certainly not an A** hole. Satan is the top runner for that post.
