ok, i get it, the bible can be seen as a book of contradictions false ideas ect., but no man can deny certain aspects of the OT.
"He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and hangs the earth upon nothing" (Job 26:7). the earth is literally "hanging upon nothing." this was not the concept of Job's day. Men in Job's time felt the earth was possibly suspended on the backs of four elephants, Or, they felt that the earth was suspended upon the shoulders of a supernaturally strong man!
"All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; unto the place whither the rivers go, there they go again" The answer, of course, lies in the hydrologic cycle, of which the Bible speaks.

"if the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth."
ok so once again their are plenty of false facts in the OT, but even so how can some of these true facts be written down so long ago. It has to be one of these options (continued)

I have observed a few people who seem to think that by going to church on a Saturday, as stated in the 10 commandments is the correct day for church. I know the SDAs do this but they are classed as a cult. Christians live under the New Covenant. Galations is very clear about the Mosiac law passing away and the bettere New Covenant coming in.
What do you guys have to say about it, do you think the choice of day is irrelevent, do you still think it should be the jewish sabbath or should it be the traditional Sunday. Please don't write too lengthy answers, as no one will read them anyway and you won't make your point.

Years ago I was told by an old soldier who had served in India that Sikhs were warriors and they believed that their Saviour would be so great a warrior that he could not be born of a woman. As a result at certain time(s) of the year they carried out homosexual practices in the hope that the Saviour would be born of a man. Is this true or was I having my leg pulled?

What right has an uneducated, dirty old man with a beard to decide what is good for others, in the name of god?

Why do not women tell those men to mind their own bl...y business?

In an earlier question, one answer had the following:

"Hindus say we are God, reality an illusion"

I was not aware of this and would like to understand it. Could someone be kind enough to give some detailed explanations?, i.e. that (1) we are God, (2) reality is an illusion?

Thank you very much.

A.) You'd come back as Ghandi, but you would live and die as a Hindu

B.) You'd come back as a Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy type, but you will find Jesus the in the last month of your life and die as a Christian.

or

C.) None of the above and you will be sent straight to Hell for all eternity.

There is no choice D. Any choice D defaults to choice C.

Yes Y!A is a bit inconsistent in their application of the rules (and I've been frustrated by this too) but these days I'm starting to side with Y!A because there are SO many people who use the site just for socializing with absolutely no intention of asking or answering questions.

Its like we're all in a giant classroom and some people are trying to study and others are distracting them with idle chatter. The authority figure or 'teacher' (Y!A) has clearly stated that chatting is not allowed 'in class' but that doesn't stop people from getting angry and indignant when they are chastised for chatting. Why is this?

Me and a couple friends were driving into the city for a night of partying, we live about 40 min away. Anyway as we driving one of my friends had to pee because alcohol (not the driver). So we pull into a gas station but guess what - it's just a person in a booth, no service or bathrooms!

So my friend ran around to the side of the building and past this soda vending machine. And she just went for a pee there on the asphalt, squatting behind the vending machine!!!

What do you do, if in the same situation?

Two military policemen were chasing a fleeing draftee from The military base.
The draftee ran into the courtyard of a convent where a nun was seated on a round bench beneath a tree quietly reading a book. He said to her "quick sister, please hide me I don't want to be Drafted and the MP's are chasing me!" She lifted up her skirts and said hide under my skirt.

The two policemen came By and asked if she had seen anyone. She replied "no".

After they left she told the young boy to come out all was OK He said you have a nice set of legs for a nun! She replied if you reach up a little farther you'll find a set of balls! I'm not going to be drafted either!
