I guess you could say that the "horrible" mother and that "dreadful" abortion doctor should be still allowed to make their "evil" choices. Really it all seems like a waste of creative energy to me.

Is this correct in english and is this understandable ?

Thank you very much for your quick and positive response.
I will talk to my teachers when classes resume, on January 7.
As far as the finances are concerned, I will submit a request on the spot, but normally my university provides some financial support.
Anyway I remain very interested and I hope that my teachers will give their consent on the subject you will propose me.

Sincerely yours,

My family is spread out; and due to divorce at a young age, my mother & father's family do not communicate at ALL! My fiance only has his father. We have been living together for 10 years now and we just want to have a very small wedding then leave for our honeymoon the next day. We are paying for all wedding & honeymoon costs because we don't have a lot of money and we know our families are not financially fit to help. My mother has not told anyone about my plans to marry but my father has shared with his family, I have a half sister that I am just getting to know (my father's daughter) and she is wanting to come to the wedding. *let it be noted neither of my parents are coming-their choice not mine. I called and told her of our small plans but she is welcome to come (how can I say no?) and she informed me that others MAY want to come as well to show their support;now since my mothers side of the family has not been informed, how do I send out announcements without inviting everyone?

I am amazed at the differences between shopping cart returners in NJ vs. PA. In NJ most people take them to the station; in PA they usually leave them anywhere they happen to be, including behind other cars. It makes me really mad. What do others think?

Salvation from the LORD is mentioned over and over in the Hebrew Scriptures, and since Isaiah 25:8 states that God will swallow uo death forever, why do Jews repeat that Judaism has no concept of salvation?

Good ones? Bad ones?

To me, it connotes a feeling of inferiority. I think it is demeaning.

i am sure one of you have heard one of those fascinating stories that hundreds of people have told about when they were clinically dead then later revived. they all say the story of how they see a light and are moving towards it, then they see..... ect (go look it up yourself) doesn't that have some form of proof of afterlife, and thus god. are all these people lying?

When not hanging around people of your faith, who do you prefer to be around and why? By this I am asking about which non-pagan persons you prefer. Personnally I like to hang out with Agnostics followed by Atheists. Always good conversation to be had there.

Which do you tend to value more a cheap and unthinking gift or a gift of much price and consideration?
I personally feel it God had chosen a simpler less horrifying perhaps way of redeeming us, say poof no problem, we would not value it nor believe in it.

Debra

This was inspired by another question I saw on YA. Someone said that their biggest problem with religion, especially Christianity was that is wants ignorance rather than knowledge in a sense, and that it avoids rationality. I am a very rational person and I always think why things are the way they are...

My perfect God would not classify murder and simple lust as equal sins. My mind says one is much worse than the other, but to God it's just labeled "sin." I would want my God to accept gay people and to think about people's circumstances--we are not all perfect and there is a HUGE difference between today's world and biblical times. They just cannot be compared. But I want to be saved and I do believe Jesus is son of God.

Any thoughts, I don't really know exactly what I'm asking... so might as well provoke discussion.

Some guy tried to give me this analogy to prove the existence of God. He claimed that you can't see air but you know it is there, just like God. Maybe I can't see air, but one can certainly prove that it exists. I mean come on, they can actually synthesize the stuff in lab. We may not be able to detect air with our eyes, but we have instruments that can detect air. You can't synthesize God in a lab and no instrument in existence can be used to detect him. Sorry, another argument that fails to convince me.

No one has anymore right to promote god to me than for me to not have to hear it.
I am an athiest but do not go around promoting my views.
Is offending me (and it does) of more importance than my civil rights to lead a life free from offensive practices.
There seems to be religeous "laws" that take precedence over my personal choices.
It angers me greatly.

I`m not trying to prove a point, I want to know if this is logically consistent. If you`re a materilists then you believe that matter is the only element in living things and throughout the universe.

You think that all matter follows determinsitic natural laws therefore free will is just an illusion. There is no mind there is only the physical brain which is predetermined by genes and enviornment. We have no choice all of our actions are set in motion by the clockwork of the Universe.

If this is true, then Christians are not really superstitious and you`re not rational. Nobody can say for sure whether or not God exists because the mind is just an illusion. All thoughts are pre-determined.

If you`re a materialists then ur disbelief in God is not rationally justified. If the mind is matter and all matter is determined then you`re disbelief in God is not valid.

But by definiton of materilism in that physical matter is all there is God does not exist.

So heres what happens:

My girlfriend tells me a couple of hours after sleeping, I start sexual advances on her. Then I either wake up on top of her which is wierd, or if I don't she says I lie back down and laugh "like a maniac - something like a madman out of a horror film!". This severly freaks me out and her even more so.

This happens about 1 - 2 times a week, and what is most frightening is last night she said I started attacking her in sleep. Then I did the manic laughing again and went back to sleep. Apparantly I have my eyes open wide looking very alert at the time, but I am miles away.

She said it seems like something else has possesed me! It is freaking me out big time.

We are christians and she is orthodox, I am anglican. She thinks its evil spirits. I am western and find it hard to accept this as I am of the scientific mind and think its more likely to be something to do with my subconscious. Thoughts please?
