No one has anymore right to promote god to me than for me to not have to hear it.
I am an athiest but do not go around promoting my views.
Is offending me (and it does) of more importance than my civil rights to lead a life free from offensive practices.
There seems to be religeous "laws" that take precedence over my personal choices.
It angers me greatly.

God is mentioned everywhere.In books,in music,in schools,in films,in politics,in the media,on the street etc.

I can't get away from it but I don't want to hear it.It seems I have no choice.
I try to respect the choices of others when they talk about thier beliefs but believers do not respect my chioce to not believe nor wish to hear talk about god.I do not go on about my veiws to anyone who does not want to hear it.Thiests views however HAVE to be heard. Why are my views wishes and feelings not equal to theists.

hey dear, you are so right. when i accidently go to camden tube station on weekends, then i will seen a man talking and promoting how wow jesus is and savior and bla and blub.... next to himn i'll see couple of young boys saying islam is worls and blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. to be honst, i am not atheist, but still all these thing really annoy me. i don't like to get on a bus and people holding a 20mins speech about how great jesus is or what ever. it might me that jesus is great, but i am hindu and therfore want not to be disturbed. i don't ever go out and tell my religion is so good or whatever. i was born as a hindu and that's it. what would i wanna make a big issue out of it? there are more than other problems in my life in this world rather that disturbing others with religions. i so support your point of view. there should be a law that forbids all these people disturbing the public. if you ever need my signature to support you in this matter, i'll be ther first to sign.

I truly am sorry that you get angered. I too get very angry when I have to read some of the remarks about my God on here. I don't push my faith on anyone . I state the answer to a question and I give my views. If this angers you, then perhaps you shouldn't ask a question. I can tell you this and it should make you feel good ,that there are people that sincerely care about you. You see the Christians have had that meeting with God, that makes us know HE IS REAL. We are so excited about it ,that we just want to share and save ALL from a life in hell. We don't do it to our own glory ,because there is none for us. But our Lord gets the glory and that makes up try even harder. Some of us have been on the dark side (your side) and found Jesus and it has transformed us. We just want to share what God has done for us and will do for you too. Don't be angry becauses people love you even thought you are an atheist. Satan will keep lying to you to keep you and we know that once you experience the truth, that you too will change. just as I did and many, many others.I couldn't live if I didn't have Jesus. In fact, I wouldn't even want to go for 2 min. without Him. That's how much I love HIM and need Him. So please don't use the questions that will hurt us about our God. OK

The problem is that Christianity means followers of Christ and Jesus taught men to follow his example.
Jesus was a teacher so that role after he left was turned over to people to continue so naturally people are going to try and share with you something that they think is good news.

They mean no harm but want to help. There faith in the bible makes it a necessary thing for them.

I understand that as a atheist you do not believe in god but even if you listen to the message that comes from the bible you could glean principles that would help you live a better life

You DO have the right.

Who said you did not?
IF you live in America, you have freedom of religion and feom religion. No one is forcing you to be religious.

God has been removed from just about everywhere but church, and some people want to deny us that right as well.

I understand that Sweden is one of the top atheistic countries. Move there if you hate Chrisitianity so much.

It appears to me that YOU want to offend US by insisting that we not love God. It appears that you are indeed promoting your views.

EVERYONE has the right to promote whatever they god damn please. You have the right to voice your displeasure. Freedom of speech, baby.

Or are you speaking of Christmas celebrations? If you're offended by other people having a great holiday you're just plain mean-spirited.

I'm an atheist and I love Christmas, New Year's, and any other hoildays coming my way- I was also delighted to take part in Passover Ceder with my Jewish friends and celebrate sweet bar-mitzvah of my friends' son, and join the diwali festivities, etc.

well of course its a choice BUT isnt god suposed to be all loving kind and forgiving ?, why would you NOT want a god filled life? if more people did then i'm sure this world would be better, i do agree tho there are many different beliefs on what or who god is , and each nation wants god for himself and thats why we cant agree and this rages war , i belive god is a state of mind to try to be a good human and to be kind and forgiving , unfortunatley you and i are borne to a world where GOD means much to many people and many diffrent things to many people , gettig it right for all 6 billion people is a huge task , i'm trying to be the best person i can be now , i wasnt in the past but if i can change then thats a start ............

Free speech isn't unlawful. You should not be offended by other people's practices. Christians will continue to ask if you want to follow God and accept Christ as your Savior. If you are comfortable in what you don't believe, then don't worry about it. The Christian mission is to spread the gospel. I am a Christian, but I do not throw my views in other people's faces. I can ask whether or not you would be interesting in accepting Christ (it is my Christian duty), but that is how far I will go. All you can do is say no thanks. I do understand there are Christians that can be a bit too pushy, but no one is perfect. In all situations (with even atheists) there will be some fanatics. Who told you people were easy to deal with?

Last time I checked, there is something called Freedom of Speech in our Constitution's bill of rights. This gives people the right to promote any religion they see fit. And you have zero right to lead a life free from being offended. Show me where to find that right in the Constitution or Bill of Rights and I will take it all back.

If you want to make a personal choice that frees you from being exposed to different points of view, lock yourself in your room, hide under your bed, and stick your fingers in your ears and shut your eyes. I am not a big fan of evangalism, but I will fight for the right for people to do so to the death rather than embrace the freedom-hating fascism you are promoting.

i''m an agnostic. I wish people on both "sides of the fence" would practice a little tolerance. If your a Cristian understand people are entitled to their own beliefs. If your an atheist don't get your panties is a bunch when you see a nativity scene. Tolerance people. In this country we still have religious freedom.
