What Asians do you mean? In the USA there was a large influx of immigrants from Vietnam. Everyone was saying it would break the country. The war had already been a big drain on the economy. They came with nothing, not even speaking the language. They were put on welfare. They found that in California it was hard to find anyone who would work in the meat cutting and packing industry. So when one started there they all did. Within two years they could speak the language and then they started pooling their resources and buying up meat packing plants. They do speciality cuts and process meat for restaurants. By the end of 18 months to two years they were paying taxes instead of using government money. No self respecting business man would have a catered affair without their choice cuts of meat.
They worked 12 to 16 hour days and if they said it would be ready it was. They then bought homes and businesses from cattering services to restaurants. They turned out to be some of the most successful people in California. Hardly a drain on the economy. IN the area where they live crime is almost non existant. They make their kids work after school.
Sorry it turned out so bad for England, but the Asians coming to USA has turned out very well. Most of San Francisco and surrounding area has Japanesse and Chinese. They are hard working and honest.
Of course there is some who get in to trouble but that is true of any culture. For the most part they don't.

I'm not from England. I'm just an American who grew up in Africa and so demands that I get status as an African American. I know more about Africa than 90% of the black Kwanzaa celebrators in Atlanta.
Not really, of course, but I never pass up an opportunity to sardonically attack modern policies.

im somewhere in the middle on this as i think we are letting too many in to live on the dole etc however some of those ppl are able to do the jobs that our own lazy bums on the dole don't want!!! i believe that if they come to our country thet should try to fit in.our government is far too concerned by what the minorities think that our own british way of life is in jeopody.we are the only nationthat it seems ashamed to fly our english flag to support our lads in the world cup! gov buildings aren't allowed to show them but we bend over backwards to allow minorities to live their way in our country! there should be one blanket rule for all,equality for everyone.and get rid of the drains on the state whether they are asian,polish or indeed...english!

You are pathetic, if it wasnt for foregigners coming over here to do jobs this country would be in an even bigger state than it is. The reason they fill our jobs is because there are that many lazy english people who are happy sitting on thier sarses and sponging of the goverment.
If people like you lived a day in the life of most asians, you would appreciate that the majority of them are hard working people earning a living.
