I have observed a few people who seem to think that by going to church on a Saturday, as stated in the 10 commandments is the correct day for church. I know the SDAs do this but they are classed as a cult. Christians live under the New Covenant. Galations is very clear about the Mosiac law passing away and the bettere New Covenant coming in.
What do you guys have to say about it, do you think the choice of day is irrelevent, do you still think it should be the jewish sabbath or should it be the traditional Sunday. Please don't write too lengthy answers, as no one will read them anyway and you won't make your point.

I don't see what it matters. A true christian will practice their religion 7 days a week anyway regardless of whether they are at church, home, work etc.

The reason the Christians chose Sunday as their Sabbath was to break away from their Jewish roots and to separate their members from the Jews.

If the Jews go to shul on Saturday and the Christians go to church on Sunday, that is two days of the week that those of the new Christian faith will not be around the Jews. It helps keep them apart and solidifies the faith.

The Muslims came along and played the same card. Their holy day is Friday so they are not around the Jews or Christians two days of the week either.

Religions are to unite only their own people and separate you from those of other faiths. I do not see anyone giving in on their holy day to make for a more united world.

Saturday is the Sabbath-it will never change.
Christians have never been under the law. The Christians first met on Sunday-the day after the Sabbath, They always have and always will. Christians in the early church went to the synagogues on the sabbath, because thats when the Jews would congregate and worshiped. They went there to try to convert the Jews. Other than that, Christians have always met on Sunday. Worship day for Christians has never changed.

Romans 14 does not have anything to do with the weekly sabbath. It is talking about which days are preferred for fasting.

Galatians supports the law, we are not under it's penalty if we are obedient --the penalty remains for the wicked.

the Sabbath is part of new covenant:

Hebrew 4:9
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;

for the gentiles also

Acts 13:42
So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

Sabbath is defined by the scriptures as being the 7th day of the week, Saturday. To "keep it holy" is to set it apart for the Lord's rest. Sabbath will always be Saturday because God described it as such in His Word.
However, the first century church began gathering together on Sunday in commemoration of the Resurrection.
Gathering together does not constitute making a Sabbath day.
Sabbath was a token of the covenant between God and the Jews.

The Sabbath was given to the JEWS as a sign of the covenant between the Jews and God.

It was not given to the Gentiles.

Therefore, the Gentiles can take any day of rest that they prefer, it doesn't matter. Rest, think of God, whatever the Gentile wants to do on that day is fine. It doesn't matter what day.

it is not the same thing, it doesn't have the same meaning either, as the Jews observing Sabbath.

I think God said there was a day of rest for a reason. I think what ever the tradition of your particular society is ok. We really do need a days rest though. I think it's sad people are having less and less opportunity to have a universal day off.

I think it's great that there are loads of people all worshipping God at the same time, often the same thing in different places all over the world. That's a very positive thing about denominations in Christ.

If the covenant changed then the bible is wrong about the nature of God. If there is a new covenant, then God changed his mind about the chosen people, and again the bible is wrong.

There is no reason to pick and choose certain laws from the covenant and not others. If the old covenant is still valid, you must stone family members who don't believe in your version of God.

If the Old Covenant is invalid then God changed and the bible isn't correct, and is unreliable. Either way Gentiles are scruuuued.

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." Genesis 2:2-3
"The seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God." Exodus 20:10. "And when the sabbath was past, ...very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre." Mark 16:1,2.

The Sabbath is not the first day of the week (Sunday), as many believe, but the seventh day (Saturday). Notice from the above Scripture that the Sabbath is the day that comes just before the first day of the week.

"Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish aught from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God." Deuteronomy 4:2. "Every word of God is pure. ... Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." Proverbs 30:5, 6.

God has specifically and positively forbidden men to change His law by deletions or additions. To tamper with God's holy law in any way is one of the most fearful and dangerous things a person can do.

God's law is good and a blessing. "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good." Romans 7:12 "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." James 1:25

Jesus said "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:18-19

In John 15:10 Jesus said "I have kept my father's commandments" and we can also find from scripture that Jesus attended church on the Sabbath day. "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read." Luke 4:16

Yes. In order to keep up with the solar cycle the calendar was changed once in October 1582, but it did not alter the weekly cycle. Ten dates were omitted from the calendar following October 4, 1582. What would have been Friday, October 5, became Friday, October 15. The diagram below will help you to visualize the change. You will see that it did not change the order of the days of the week.
