Dear Heavenly Father thank you for this food and bless the hands that prepared it. Bless the food to our bodies and bless the conversation at this table. In Jesus name we pray.

Prayer Before Breakfast

Sure. You can pray any time you need or want to. Praying is not restricted to meal time or bed time. You can say a short prayer for help on an icy road, or pray for strength to deal with something. The Bible says," ...men ought always to pray..." Luke 18:1b

Absolutely ! You can pray at any time during the day, as much as you want to.

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) . . .Always be rejoicing. 17 Pray incessantly. 18 In connection with everything give thanks. For this is the will of God in union with Christ Jesus respecting YOU. . .

(Psalm 92:1-2) . . .It is good to give thanks to Jehovah And to make melody to your name, O Most High;  2 To tell in the morning about your loving-kindness And about your faithfulness during the nights,

(Psalm 65:2) . . .O Hearer of prayer, even to you people of all flesh will come.

Psalm 83:18 (King James Version)
18That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

bless this food now, the next meal and for all humanity

YOU bless it by being thankful, not a deity

if you do believe in a deity pray with belief that all food will be blessed not just for this meal, but for every meal until you die

but they don't do it......why? if you knew this you would leave

This little ritual we call "saying will"

Master of the table knocks three times on table with knife, then five times then three times for a total of 11 times.

M: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

O: What is thy Will?

M: It is my Will to eat and to drink.

O: To what end?

M: That I may fortify my Body thereby.

O: To what end?

M: That I may accomplish the Great Work.

O: Love is the law, love under Will.

M: Fall to. (Master of the table knocks once)

There are addendums to this ritual, but this is the basics.

yes.
When I am out at a restaurant, I bow my head and say a silent prayer.

WE pray out loud at home for God to bless the food.

this lady sitting next to me in a rest. prayed over her food;"....and bless it to my body..in Jesus name, amen"...something shot out of my mouth..(i heard it?) "..Are you kidding?!?"..she just looked at me, as did the other patrons as well...(as my mouth hung open, and a Pepsi glass was flung through the air at me!) "I'm so sorry...i didn't mean anything about your "weight", mam?, in fact, i'm going to the bathroom now, and clean up a bit...!!! I came out, and there in front of me was a "new cup of coffee"..(which went all over my lap!) and the went " Now i get it!"..i'll try to pray differantly from now on! ...I shook my head and smiled, "but i opened not my mouth!" "Peace!" and "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" :)
