I prefer field mice to the gutter rats my cousin finds in the big city. Life is more stressful, dangerous and goes against nature inside the big cities. No, it goes against nature.

Why are the Baptists such teetotalers? Thats so lame. Jesus himself liked booze

Bill Leonard, dean of Wake Forest Divinity School, said many Baptist churches served real wine when observing the Lord's Supper late into the 19th century. "I know for a fact that First Baptist Church [of] Savannah, Ga., in particular, used wine for communion until" the 18th Amendment, which instituted Prohibition nationwide, went into effect in 1920, he said

Among Christians and other students of the New Testament, Cana is best known as the place where, according to the Fourth Gospel, Jesus performed his first miracle (scholars would note that it was His first miracle in Cana, acknowledging that His disciples were present at the feast, but with him in Capernaum where Mark records miracles after the temptation; Mark 1:25,31,34.), the turning of a large quantity of water into wine at a wedding feast (John 2:1-11) when the wine provided by the bridegroom had run out

I have spent most of my life far away from family. Being a shift worker, I often work Christmas. Like now, bummer.

My heart grows tender thinking about family and friends.

I also think about Christ, the season reaches into my soul.

You Christians often say that God wasn't created, that he always existed. That he essentially is an example of something being able to design and organize itself.

If God can design and organize himself, why can't the Universe have just designed and organized itself, and thus, have always been, with no need for a creator?

Again, your belief that God always was, smacks of hypocrisy, because if God can just "be", why couldn't the Universe just "be", with no need for an All-Powerful creator thrown into the equation?

Why have the hypocritical faith that God can create himself, but have no faith that the Universe couldn't simply do the same??

This is old news and the record was probably beaten since September, but I wasn't on Answers when all the fuss happened. You should have seen the TV reports, Islamic clerics protesting and judging those who participated, calling such an act immoral and so on. It was disgusting to watch the news to be honest.

My country went through a war during the early '90s and I personally think it's WONDERFUL if for a change we make the headlines that have something to do with spreading love and positive energy.

Your opinions, please. And Merry Christmas to all those celebrating :)
