Among Christians and other students of the New Testament, Cana is best known as the place where, according to the Fourth Gospel, Jesus performed his first miracle (scholars would note that it was His first miracle in Cana, acknowledging that His disciples were present at the feast, but with him in Capernaum where Mark records miracles after the temptation; Mark 1:25,31,34.), the turning of a large quantity of water into wine at a wedding feast (John 2:1-11) when the wine provided by the bridegroom had run out

DID JESUS MAKE ALCOHOLIC WINE?
SOME INTRODUCTORY BIBLE FACTS ABOUT WINE:
1. The word wine in the Bible is a generic term; sometimes it means grape juice; sometimes it means alcoholic beverages. The following verses prove that the word "wine" can mean fresh grape juice, the fruit of the vine: De. 11:14; 2 Ch. 31:5; Ne. 13:15; Pr. 3:10; Is. 16:10; 65:8; 1 Ti. 5:23.

The wine that was talked about in the Bible was a non- alcoholic wine. It was merely grape juice or cider.

It's the amount of wine they are sipping, if you recall at the Last Supper, Jesus said in Matthew, Chapter 26 verse 27 "Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenent, which will be shed on my behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins" Now all he had was one small chalice, and there were 11 apostles in that room. In Holy Communion, when the person receives the body of Christ through a host, the wine he or she recieves is only a small portion of what is in that chalice. They only take a sip, not a gulp.

Alcohol is not "bad" people's abuse of alcohol is. Some unable to control there consumption of it become a problem to themselves and others. The fallout is what makes it bad. Christians tend to steer clear of things that can have negative fallout to others and themselves.

He says it's cool to drink just don't get drunk b/c then you get dumb and do things you're not suppose to do, like sleep with your best friend's dog name Midget and then it's just weird hanging around people after that. So basically don't get drunk b/c you'll probably sin. Drink responsibly.

alcohol is not bad when taken in moderation. the bad thing about alcohol is when its taken abusively coz it can make you do bad things and make wrong decisions. if you indulge in beer, that is a sin and its under gluttony (one of the 7 capital sins/category of sins).

I think it is because so many people turn into alcoholics, I don't think Jesus drank so much until he couldn't walk.
