If religion is all about being crazy, then why do they fight and ridicule each other when they are in the same boat?

It's a pagan tradition. The bible says it's wrong to have one. Yet millions of Christians put them up each year and think nothing of it. Jeremiah 10:2-4: "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not."

Any one reading Genesis can not accept Evolution.

1. Genesis's has a genealogy that makes up all the Jews starting from Adam.
Now if Adam doesn't exist then Jews can't possibly exist because a Jew is an ancestor of the tribe of one of Adams children who's name is Abraham. If Abraham did not come from Adam then the bible pretty much isn't true.

2. Adam and Eve were the first people to learn of the plan of salvation from Jesus Christ.
Adam was told to sacrifice a lamb with out blemish.

If there was no Adam then when was the plan of salvation introduced to mankind?

3. Bones don't prove any thing. A jaw bone doesn't prove that an ape mated and brought forth mankind.

I trust the bible because it is written by those who have seen.

God himself gave us Genesis. Bones don't tell any stories, the fables come from the scientist holding the bones, and there is a long history of lies that prove how well we can trust science

I don't trust some bones because they don't show me any thing.

Funny that I'm made fun of for trusting written word instead of some dumb bone.

I've seen so many questions on Y/A about what the Bible has to say about homosexuality. Can someone please indicate the exact pasage, or verse, or whatever in the New Testament where Jesus says it is bad to be homosexual, and I'll look it up. Thank you.

I was just wondering who Jesus was praying too. If he is God as well then who was he praying to while here on earth. I'm not trying to mean or anything i was just wondering how you explain that.

I know God has a plan for my life, but I can't help feeling that every time I do wrong (and repent afterwards) another oppurtunity or good "thing" suddenly vanishes. As if everything that happens depends on my ability to remain utterly pure and upright. I pray and I pray, but it seems my, eh, fortunes are swinging back and forth as if on a pendulum.

And call me "spiritually immature" but I find it hard to keep waiting for God's plan with no noticeable results. I'm 16, and some things it seems that prayer is useless.

Advice?

First, a couple of observations:

Since the late 70s, when I was in my single digits, it seems to me that society has gradually become much colder, more distant and ill-mannered while becoming less compassionate toward each other as time has passed.

Schools appear to teach more advanced classes, yet our society seems to be more and more "dumbed down" each day - especially if you are to believe the images that the media presents of Generation Y.

Finally, I need to add I'm not a fatalistic freak who focuses on the morbid. The glass is neither half full nor half empty...it's just half. With that said, my questions are:

Do you feel some specific event or series of events in the last 30 years set in motion changes that have made society more self involved and desensitized?

If so, what event(s) do you feel were behind the change?

Given our current state of affairs, where do you think the country will be in 10 years? 25? 50?

I'm only 15 years old and already im tired of high school. I've changed so much in the past years that its literally scared me. I used to gossip (talk crap, w/e) now i dont. I used to drink, do drugs, smoke, etc and now i think its stupid and a waste of time. I've lied, decieved my parents and nearly took a trip to juvie, and now i don't at all anymore. I've pretty much done everything wrong in the book except for sleeping with guys because I've always felt virginity to be important. Plus, I wouldn't want to be 23 years old with "used goods" lol.

So now, I am thinking about getting myself back into christianity. For some reason, I feel extremely drawn to Christ now, and I don't want to let this feeling go. What Is some good evidence that shows that there really is a God that exists out there? I really want to believe again.

I am a beginning wiccan, as are my friends. we have no experienced wiccan friends anywhere nearby, so we are trying to start our own coven. I want to perform our first ritual on the winter solstice, but am worried about the consiquences of screwing it up. Can anyone suggest a simple and SAFE ritual/spell that we can perform and provide a place to find detailed guidelines of said ritual?

They do it all the time on here about many different relgious and non-relgious groups. Catholics, Mormons, Wiccians, and many others have had many non-truthful things posted about them. I guess the thing i understand the least is when you tell them that what they are saying is not true they just tell you that you don't know anything about your beliefs.

We( the americans who separated from the British and created America as a country) could for example , have had a language called American and a totally different writing script but no.. we have to go along with what was given to us.

Mexicans too. Spanish came, took over, but then spanish continued and also Roman letters.

In Australia, same thing. In Brazil, the same thing happened( but wit Portuguese)

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem Almost too much to handle, When 24 Hours in a day is not enough, Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, He picked up a very large And empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students If the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked The students again If the jar was full.. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded With an unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table

THE COWBOY AND THE LESBIAN.

An old cowboy sat down at the Star bucks and ordered a cup of coffee.
As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him.
She turned to the cowboy and asked, "Are you a real cowboy?"
He replied, "Well, I've spent my whole life breaking colts, working cows,
going to rodeos, fixing fences, pulling calves, bailing hay, doctoring
calves, cleaning my barn, fixing flats, working on tractors, and feeding
my dogs, so I guess I am a cowboy."

She said, "I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about women. As
soon as I get up in the morning, I think about women. When I shower, I
think about women. When I watch TV, I think about women. I even think
about women when I eat. It seems that everything makes me think of
women."

The two sat sipping in silence.
A little while later, a man sat down on the other side of the old cowboy
and asked, "Are you a real cowboy?!”
He replied, "I always thought I was, but I just found out that I’m a
lesbian."

I met a friend online about 2 months ago. We've pretty much been talking every day or every other day and vibe on different levels. He's talking about wanting to meet in person and has even offered going half on a plane ticket to see him and offered for me to stay with him. However, I'm leery, is there some "unwritten rule" about meeting people online? We are both grown adults, same age range, and ambitious. the trip would be planned sometime end of Jan or end of Feb by that time we would have conversated a little more, but I would appreciate ADULT opinions on this question. thank you.

I accepted a "challenge" from a Creationist for an e-mail debate about Creationism recently. I agreed, as long as he actually supported Creationism instead of just attacking other theories. So far he has only attacked Evolution and quoted the Bible .

Surely you have somebody that can do better.
