Terry. I'm sorry to hear about your lorry,(that was a joke), but the point is -
If you had previously done the same thing yourself and was forgiven, due to your obvious shameful regret, would you find it in yourself to accept their apology and offer forgiveness as quick as you accepted it?

LOL, funny coincidence where it ended up huh?

Well since your HERE in R&S, I'll give you an R&S answer. Forgive not only what you've been forgiven of, forgive as much as you want God to forgive you. That means everything.

(BTW- I'd have given the same answer in polls and surveys.)

No we as Christians are to forgive others for all trespasses committed against us - not just once but 70 times 7 times if necessary.

I am a Christian and will say something a little different. Forgiveness is not to be arbitrarily given until the one who has done us wrong has said they are sorry. Then and only then do we forgive.

For example. If someone gets a large hammer and damages your car. You do not walk up to this yo-yo and say "I forgive you". Only when he says he is sorry and proves he is sorry by paying for the damages do you forgive him.

Not for me it isn't . After all Jesus died on the cross for sins that He never committed. So to forgive someone for something you never done is the act of love the Christ has shown us.

Matthew 5:12
Forgive us our debts AS WE forgive others.

HOW you forgive others is how God will forgive us.
Now, do you want to be totally forgiven, or partially?

I think it is harder to forgive sins that we are guilty of..Our sins always look worse on some other person.

Treat your neighbour as you would treat yourself- bit unfortunate for your neighbour if you're a sado-masochist though!
