No. I don't. I am more fond of the words "heresy" and "apostasy".

I sure do....I quote the bible every chance I get...to those who have pride or those who insist, God approves of their gay lifestyle...a gay Christian does not exist,,,you are either a Christian or you are Gay...God called both an abomination.......as for blasphemy....I don't know of anyone who has done that to my knowledge anyway...so I don't use that word that much.....but what's your point?

I don't use a lot of the words in the bible because some of them are no longer in use today..the Bible was written a long time ago..words change over time or fall out of favor.....big doopety deal..I can think of a lot of words I used once, we no longer use any more,,,hippie,,,,yuppie...grooving. Merry Christmas,,,no wait a minute....some of us still use that...

Personally, I use "blasphemy" much more than "abomination", though neither are part of my common conversation.

If you care to read the Bible, or you could look in a Strongs Concordance, "abomination" is rarely used. This tells me that the word has unusual and specific meaning..............

Usually in jest, or in a rare occasion when I hear of an actual blasphemy or abomination.

No... but I do believe I've just set a goal for myself today.

Out into the world with me to lable things abominations.

I'm starting with that raisin-infested coffee cake. Then I might move on to the jammed paper-towel dispenser in the ladies room and that weird guy in accounting.

1. Check: my fish doesn't like yellow fish flakes. He spits them out. Told someone they are an abomination.

regularly, especially at Starbucks, as in: "This coffee is an abomination!"

Today I'll work on using the word blasphemy at work.

Q: "Say, did you say the numbers report..?"

A: "BLASPHEMY!"

I think I used blasphemy one time in reference to how the Christ message has been twisted till it is no longer recognizable. Other than that one time, no. I would not have used it then but someone asked for a definition of blasphemy.
Blessings.

Heyya 8TM

Never have I used blasphemy in conversation.... ever.

But once, several years ago, a close friend who is psychic and also wiccan did a Tarot card reading on me without me knowing it. During a casual conversation, and without any malice towards her, I said, "you know, in my tradition, that kind of thing is considered an abomination against the Holy Spirit." What I SHOULD have said is "please don't do that again." She acknowledged what I said and we moved on....

peace

Sure, why not. Christians gain a whole new vocabulary when they're saved, praise God. And they get to enjoy new words and phrases with their brothers and sisters in Christ, maybe even the backsliders if they fall away from the fold, Amen? Yeah...hallelujah. Pray about it...
