I've seen so many questions on Y/A about what the Bible has to say about homosexuality. Can someone please indicate the exact pasage, or verse, or whatever in the New Testament where Jesus says it is bad to be homosexual, and I'll look it up. Thank you.

to barbara: that's the whole point of this question, Jesus said many things that were contrary to Jewish law, so he may have been 100% Jew, but was not 100% in agreement with their laws. I want to know where it says what JESUS said, if anything, against homosexuality.

to shortiep: ok Corinthians 6:9, does mention it, along with other "bad stuff" (that probably everyone incurs in). Like you say it's a letter from Paul. Is there nothing in Luke, John, Mark or Mathew?

There is nothing in the New Testament re guarding homosexuality per say...in the Old Testament what is referred to a homosexuality is actually pederasty.
Please read the following information written by theologians:
http://www.libchrist.com/other/homosexual/pederasty.html
http://www.libchrist.com/other/homosexual/romans.html
http://www.libchrist.com/other/homosexual/bornagain.html
If you go into these sites you can also access many other bits of information as well. This should be a must read for bigoted Christians who do not believe homosexuals can be Christians.
ADDITIONAL: I forgot to add this page: http://www.whosoever.org/gayxian/articles.html

I have heard the bibles standing on homosexuality many many times before, but I want to clear the air a little. Yes the bible does state that man should not lay with another man, but the bible also says that women are not to speak in front of man, Slavery is accepted, as well as many other values that contradict the way society is today. Have you ever told a story to someone next to you, they pass it along and so on? What happens to that story when it gets across the room? Try to take in consideration that the bible has been translated into many different languages, but here in lies a problem. See syntax is a very funny thing, see sometimes when you are translating syntax from one language to another meaning is lost, because syntax and rules that dictate it are different in other languages. Well heres an interesting thought could scholars have adapted their own beliefs or opinions into scripture while translating? God loves all his children right? Well if he were to exclude homosexuals, doesn't that make him prejudice? God could forgive a murderer and let him into the kingdom of heaven, but if a man sleeps with another man they are banished to hell? If God is all about love, then why would he care who you love. I hear the bible as an argument in almost every discussion that lashes against homosexuality, and I think that it should not be a relevant point. If the bible is your guide to life Do you practice what you preach?

Jesus never says anything against it himself. Moreover, in the whole Bible there are only about 7 passages (10 max) that deal with homo-sexuality, most of which have created huge controversy among Bible translators and scholars, and this is why:
The Greek word malakos, often translated as homo-sexual in our modern Bibles, is more literally translated as soft. The very same word is sometimes used in other passages within Scripture to describe something that is soft, like silk for example. If the Biblical authors (namely Paul in this case) really intended to condemn all homo-sexual practices, there were a number of other, less ambiguous, terms that could've been used: "erastes," "eromenos," "paedika," "paederastes" and others. Yet these terms NEVER show up in Scripture.
In other words, it's highly debated by knowledgeable Bible scholars whether Scripture actually condemns monogamous homo-sexual relations at all.

Too many of the politicians and religious representatives don't care what Jesus has to say about anything until it might prove to sway a vote in their direction or give them more power somehow. So as the usual it would go like this," If Jesus says it's good we will ban it so that others won't know or can't do it, and if Jesus says it's not good or totally wrong we will gain the public support by making it legal and acceptable. Then we will publicly announce our thanks to God for making us able to do so." That's probably how all of it happens everyday.

If you understand the Bible, Jesus is the Word of God. It was most likely Him who was talking to Moses and the prophets in the Old Testament. It was Him after all, who spoke and created everything.
As a Bisexual Christian, I know that it is a sin to be a Bisexual, homosexual, or to have sex outside of marriage. That's not my beef because I know that even IF I didn't do those things, I am still a sinner.
Even IF Jesus said something about homosexuals, there would still be some sin some nonbeliever out there would being up as being a non issue. But as I said, the Law was the Law of Moses. And according to the Law of Moses, homosexuality is a sin. Jesus knew the Law of Moses, it was that which he was fulfilling. And since he was the one who talked to Moses, he knew it better than anyone.
So It's not what I would try to do to make something sinful into a non-sin, but rather know that even though we sin, Jesus died for the sinner. He came to rescue those who would believe in him.

If you look at the quotes from Jesus, he never said anything against homosexuals. Apostle Paul was the one who said that they were an abomination to God. 10% of all human and animal populations exhibit homosexual tendancies. Obviously, a lot of priests are gay males. I think Christians need to take a closer look at the way in which gays are viewed. I may be mistaken, but wasn't women's rights under the same scrutiny? There are passages in the bible about women wearing hats in public and sewing purple clothes for her family, going off to a special place when she has her period, etc.

Romans 1:24 - 1:30
Cor. 6:9
Eph. 5:3
Are all passages that talk about homosexuality. I do not know of any passage within the Bible that tells of Jesus mentioning homosexuality. However, Paul was a disciple of Jesus and the Bible is God's word.

I know there is because I remember reading it, but it was when we had to read through the entire Bible for Confirmation, so i don't remember exactly where it is.
It was something like how it was un-natural and against God, but that's the act not the person.
But that is just in the Bible, I don't thin Jesus actually said it. Jesus did uphold Jewish moral law, but he changed the covenant so ppl didn't need to burn sacrifices and stuff like that anymore cuz he was the ultimate sacrifice.

This is where people tend to "justify" their behavior and beliefs.
Just because the Bible makes no mention of Jesus saying homosexuals, doesn't make it right.
Jesus came to FULFILL the law, not abolish it. If the law states homosexuality is an abomination, nowhere does Jesus say that He condones the practice. Note fornicators are those who practice sex outside of the marriage ordained by God (man and woman) and I believe Jesus spoke in revelations about fornicators not inheriting the kingdom of God.
