According to the bible, aren't both a sin?

Boom- the problem is, as a non-Christian, I don't see why one is worse than the other. Neither really causes harm to anyone else. Except maybe overeating, if there's not enough food to go around. I don't see why homosexuality is so obviously worse.

its one of those selective sins things. human beings are really stupid like that, they will just changte the rules based on whatever fits in to society at the time. since a lot of americans are quite fat, particularly the rich ones, it woudlnt jive with them to not be able to over indulge. but homosexuality makes a lot of traditional folk uncomfy i guess, and since everyone around them feels the same way, they get away with it more.

its funny, i worked at a place that had a lot of muslim guys who were sort of younger, so they were like half traditional and half not. they would get drunk and **** all the time, but never eat pork, even tho its kinda just as bad to eat pork for them as it is to drink.
people will just bend the rules to whatever suits them, and since therte are more fatties who want to gobble gobble than there are fruitloops who want to just be themselves, the homosexuality would be viewed as less prominent, and easier to single out.
i mean really if you go back to the 10 commandments we are all probably breaking a few of them.
i covet my neighbours wife, his ***, and his manservant. ive also stolen, and yet people would probably like me better than a model homosexual, since they themselves have prolly covetted or stolen, or know someone who has, qand know its not an uncommon thing.

Because obesity has developed into our culture and lives for many generations. Homosexuality is not as wide spread so not as accepted.

Your question is very good. I think if you are going to follow the Bible then you should target both. (I personally don't target either...but apparently the Bible says to, so then you do both. It's not a double standard)

(I heard somewhere that homosexuality was a plan to help prevent overpopulation. Since there are limited resources and continual population growth - at our current rate the world will not be able to sustain everyone eventually. - Not my opinion, just something I read once)

Yes in the bible both are sins. But the new testament directly states that homosexuality is a sin and it vague hints that over eating is one. Something like 84% of people in America are religious the majority of those are some form of Christian or Catholic they disagree with homosexuality but eating a lot supports the economy. Money and jobs are usually more important than equal rights.

Well... according to the seven deadly sins (known as the capital vices or cardinal sins; a classification of vices originally used in early Christian teachings to educate and instruct followers concerning fallen man's tendency to sin): Luxuria (extravagance), Gula (gluttony), Avaritia (greed), Acedia (sloth), Ira (wrath), Invidia (envy), and Superbia (pride), over-eating is a sin but homosexuality is not.

Of course, the Bible quoters will beat me down, and I know it's in the Bible, I grew up in Catholic school.

Everything's a sin; we're sinners. It's just the way life is. We just strive to become better people.

I agree with you, and I am a Christian.

Such as these verses from Leviticus 11:

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. KJV

9 " 'Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales. 10 But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales—whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water—you are to detest. 11 And since you are to detest them, you must not eat their meat and you must detest their carcasses. NIV

So are there any crosses made with mother of pearl? Any puka shell necklaces? Abalone? Do any eat lobster? Shrimp?

The point being, we are under a New Covenant. Under this New Covenant any who are willing are two things: chosen by God, and forgiven upon their acceptance in faith of Jesus Christ. They are new creatures in Christ Jesus, and as the person lives in faith God's Spirit works in them too do the will of the Father. As I am a Bisexual, so God deals with me.

because homosexuality is taking such a life changing step.

Once you give in to this it becomes a part of your life and you may become confused and trapped by your partner and convinced that it is who you are.

God doesn't make murder's or child molesters and he certainly doesn't make gay people. These are habits they develop because no one was there to help correct the problem. Mostly because it was going unnoticed. This behavior is very secret and if it goes undetected it becomes a lifestyle that is against the will of God.

God made man for woman. The plan of salvation is to love and serve one another and if two join together man and woman, they are to love each other and serve one another.

Homosexuals often sexually harass straights. That is why so many straights feel threatened by homosexuals. An argument from nature is that sex was made for the continuance of the human race. Other uses are un-natural.

the 7 deadly sins aren't in the bible. gluttony is mentioned in the bible almost exactly the same amount of times as homosexuality.

Yes, both homosexuality and gluttony are sins; however, in God's eyes homosexuality is a much more dire sin because it defiles and desicrates the holy and mystical union of lovemaking which symbolizes the union of Jesus Christ and His believers (or Church) at the end of the age.

because everyone indulges in overeating to some extent, but not everyone is into homosexual relations. And over eating has not been railied against because it is a billion dollar industry.
My question is, does Jesus actually say something against homosexuals? Ok I'll put as a question. thanx

I don't think either sin is worse. Homosexuality is in the lime-light now, because of the push to redefine marriage to include the union of same sex couples.
