gifts, trees, and stockings have nothing to do with the religion. The religion is celebrating Jesus' birth in any way, so yes those things are fine for anybody, it would just seem somewhat ironic for that person to bow their head at dinner prayer

Totally okay, I'm not religious (very up in the air about that whole thing actually), but I celebrate Christmas, not because of the birth, but because of the joy and goodwill that seems to conquer people around this time. True, some of Christmas is solely concerned with the retail end of things, but I think in the grander scheme it just puts every one in a great festive mood, and that's why I celebrate.
And all nay sayers can suck a lemon with Harriett Beecher Stowe, who was the first person to criticize Christmas for being to commercial in the 1800s...actually, I wish all those people peace and good will, you too for that matter!

Why not?
It's a US Federal holiday, the stores build up to it beginning before Halloween, and most people who claim to be Christian miss the whole point by buying gifts and trying to outdo each other with spending.
The reason that Christmas is celebrated in late December is that it was originally a pagan feast celebrating the return of the sun. Sun = Light = Son of God, etc.
And, by the way, I am Christian and attempt to celebrate both Advent (four weeks before Christmas) and the Twelve Days of Christmas (Christmas day through Epiphany aka: "Little Christmas"). Too bad more people don't do the same!

Yeah I think it is fine, what Christmas is for you is not necessarily what it is to others. Christmas to me is celebrating life with my family. I think it is great that we can have all this cheer and celebrations for anyone no matter what religion.
Edit: DO it on the 25th then it is lots of people celebrating different things all at once, you know like THE MORE THE MERRIER

yes, Christmas is also a cultural event. It is a time of sharing and showing love, even you don't have a religious affilation. Children believe in St. Nick and the magic of a gift giver. Most of us remember how exciting that part of Christmas was in our lives. I would hope that everyone had a religious connection to Christmas, but love and good will will always be a part of Christmas.

I think it is fine. Maybe because that's how I was brought up. My family has very mixed religious background. I went to Catholic school which only half of the people were actually Catholic.
The art of gifting is a great way to share. It has no religious boundary.
