Did you know that there is a path of thinking (not a religion, but a 'path of thinking') that proclaims that true spirituality is a search to the knowledge of the soul - above all that any religion tells you?

Did you know that you are a perfectly correct stream of thought which is better that being sheep that follow a master proclaimed by common thought?

The above chain of thinking is Vedanta. Vedanta is a way of life - not a religion, per se. Would you take some time out to google out what Vedanta means?

Where is the intellectual integrity?
Didn't he say that Christianity was harmful to us?
Why would he mouth the words to songs that he believes are a pack of lies?
If Dawkins can be a cultural Christian can't someone else?
Are Christian traditions good or evil? The "cultural Christian" Richard Dawkins can't seem to make up his mind.

BTW, a cultural Christian is one of the types of Christian we call, not a "true Christian".

I just found out that the place I live houses multiple sex offenders and the area around where I live also has multiple sex offenders I know for a fact that most of my neigbors who are females or have very small children don't know these people live in there vicinity I am really concerned because I see small kids running around outside by themselves all day so basically what I am asking is it against the law for me to pass out flyers with just warning people sex offenders live in our area as long as I don't use there names and addresses

In certain intergrated neighborhoods in California, some black brothers seem to harbor some very anti-black attitudes and at the same time seem very accommodating to white people: professionally, casually, socially, even sexually.

But, when I report this to my cousins who live in all black areas in Texas, they don't believe it. They know blacks don't do that or go there. Then, I hear bad words from them.

So what do you think, is it possible or am I off track in some way ?

I f mormons believe they will be Gods, then it contredicts the bible right? I mean take a look at Genesis 3:1-6. What the serent was telling Eve exactly states what mormons tell others. Satan himself fell from heaven because he wanted to be like God. There can be no other God than just God himself. If you look at scripture carefully, things just dont come together. I think its false teachings. Another thing that questions me about mormonism is they say they have a prophet that goes up to talk to God. No man can see the face of God. Moses for example was really close with God and the only thing that God allowed for him to see was the back of him. Why would God need a prophet when we as christians have the holy spirit to guide us? Any comments?

Advent is upon us !! Praised be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !!

Christ gave us the great Sacrament of Reconciliation. Are we availing ourselves of this before Christmas comes?

John 20:19–23 "On the evening of that day.. ..Jesus said to [the apostles] again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you... ..If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

This is the authority to forgive sins in the name of Christ, given to the apostles. This authority was handed down through Apostolic Succession. Notice how in verse 21 Jesus says, "As the Father has sent me, so I send you." In other words, Jesus is giving his apostles the same authority that he received from his Father. Now what authority did Jesus receive from God the Father? We see earlier, in Mark 2:10, that he had the authority to forgive sins. Jesus brought the power of forgiveness, and in John 20:21, he gives that authority to his apostles

You know this time of year is always so hectic, and you are led to believe that Christmas is special, and all the relatives get together(who do not get along), and everyone pretends to have a great time :) I do not know about you, but I am not a good actor when it comes to my feelings! So do you dread this time of year, or are you a person that really loves it?

Hear me out. They are taking money for a product they do not own, cannot deliver and cannot guarantee in any money-back kind of way, and don't accept responsibility for the truth of their claims. Is that not fraud, and how can we begin a class action suit against them?

......answers? All I can get out their answers is, that their Church changes with the times and the prophets whenever I ask about all of the changes to their book and doctrine over the years since the revelation of the plates to Joseph Smith. It just seems like an excuse to me. Can a Church really add or take away from their doctrine and supposedly accurate holy book and still be taken seriously by intellectual folks that still have the power of reason and are capable of thinking for themselves? I mean 2+2 is always gonna equal 4 isn't it? So what does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints add up too? I have gotten less double talk and mumbo jumbo out of a used car salesman!

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." 2 Timothy 4:2-4

I met two people in my preaching work today who say they are atheists. One is from a country that is "atheist", so he just has that background.

The second one was religious long ago, but then after seeing the hypocrisy in many churches, he decided to give up on any belief in God.

Question to the atheists here, I'm just curious about whether any of you are like the second guy, whether

a) it's the hypocrisy in today's religions that made you believe what you believe, or

b) the hypocrisy just added on to what you believed already?

As this question is addressed to atheists, I'd really appreciate if all others kept their remarks polite.

Thanks.
