I am ex Catholic, so I know about the sacraments, etc. However, I am more curious about salvation outside of Jesus Christ. I see alot of Catholics allude that Jesus isnt necessary for salvation, but what is the official church teaching on this subject. Thank you in advance.

I've eaten shrimp for the last two nights, could use some new ideas. Shrimp scampi the first night, then Tempura shrimp last night.
I need meat, and it needs to be a quick meal, because my feet hurt and I don't really wanna stand at the stove to long.
Any ideas?

Atheists or all those people who are posting here about how "real" Christians should never celebrate Christmas? I am an atheist. I like Christmas. I like decorations. I like carols. I even like singing Handel's Messiah.

He's into baseball and football, video games, the Rockies, Broncos, (or pretty much any other Colorado team) (but i'm not sure what jerseys he already owns), and bands like Green Day and Maroon 5. Nothing too expensive please.

There are over 75 questions about food server tipping, the majority of them discuss percentages. This is fine if you are spending $30 or $50, but as someone who never buys alcohol by the glass and often splits an entree with his wife resulting in a $15 or less bill, I wonder if 15-20% is adequate.

What is the minimum tip for a food server working in average chain restaurant? What if you are dining alone? Does this change the minimum or percentage?

Current and past food servers are encouraged to comment.

I KNOW THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS but your faith is usually decided by where, and to whom you are born. if you are born in to a hindu family in india, you will be hindu, japan- shinto, etc. so your religious beliefs are USUALLY decided by the luck of the draw. again i know there are exceptions, there are thousands of 3 legged dogs out there, but generally speaking they have 4 legs. probably about the same percentage as one who is born into one faith, and changes to another. that is why it is so unfair that the bible says if you dont accept Jesus as your saviour you wont go to heaven. christians have to realize that if they were born a aboriginal in australia they most likely would not be christian. is it fair that they are doomed to hell?

I can't say I'm religious, but I do believe in Christianity.

How long did it take Mary and Joseph to get to Bethlehem from Nazareth after King Herod sentenced the order that all men must return to the land of their ancestors?

Also, how long was the journey? In 'The Nativity Story', it was claimed to be over 100 miles, but I've read 80, 100, 120, etc..

Thanks in advance.

Well we did a gift X-change for some program in my University. (CSUS yay). We all agreed minimum $$$$=15 dollars.

I bought my secret santa (girl) a CD that was more than $25 and seems like she liked it. Because my gift exchange person was not there, I did not get mine. The next day, some girl said, "did ya get ur present?" I said, "nope." she stared. "Oh, i left it in your mail box. " I was happy. "Thanks?" I thought. "It's just candy she said............UGH!"

I was semi pissed. It turned out to be a $1 box of candy canes.......what the F*ck?!!! $15 minimum? HELLO... BAHAHAHAHahahahahhahahahah worst gift ever! Seriously this is worst than not getting anything.

Post a story about your worst x-mas gift also.

I'm a tarot reader professionally, but I don't believe in satan-worshipping, sorcery, or anything involving occult or communicating with the dead.

I was raised in a christian family, and they still believe what they believe. However a branch of my family are what most would call 'hardcore' christians - they believe some things that most people in their church consider a bit off the wall.

I had a run-in this morning with one of the family members who accused me of being a satan-worshipper, and told me that God could never love me, so neither can they.

I thought that even the Bible said that despite what people believed, thought, or how they looked, that you were to love them how you would want to be loved?
I believe they can believe what they want, and I don't mind it when they preach at me, I really don't. But it's being told that I'm not worthy of God's love when I know personally that God loves everyone.

What do most christians, even people in general, believe about this?
