Has any one ever clearly understood the celebrated story at the beginning of the Bible--of God's mortal terror of science? . . . No one, in fact, has understood it. This priest-book par excellence opens, as is fitting, with the great inner difficulty of the priest: he faces only one great danger; ergo, "God" faces only one great danger.--The old God, wholly "spirit," wholly the high-priest, wholly perfect, is promenading his garden: he is bored and trying to kill time. Against boredom even gods struggle in vain.21What does he do? He creates man--man is entertaining. . . But then he notices that man is also bored. God's pity for the only form of distress that invades all paradises knows no bounds: so he forthwith creates other animals. God's first mistake: to man these other animals were not entertaining--he sought dominion over them; he did not want to be an "animal" himself.

I see many questions asking athiests about what they believe and many athiests questioning theists, I am asking a question that is covering both areas, mainly out of curiousity to see what answers I get.

John 2
23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name. 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men. 25 He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.

Whose testimony was John talking about? What were they saying?

that the word crusade as in harvest crusade, or crusades for christ, is offensive to jews because when the catholics killed the jews back in the day, it was called a crusade. the word is very offensive and should not be used for a meeting or conference where they are trying to convert people.

Some historians believe that Jesus was a rich merchant with a humble heart. Of course the Bible says nothing about this and I would like your opinion.

Hollywood, the media and others deem it ok to say things about Jesus, or depict him in anyway. Muslims have a great love for their prophet and therefore we will protect his memory and honour him in a fitting way. I am totally against people being burned at the stake for naming teddy bears and drawing cartoons, but should cartoons come out i shall voice my disagreements very loudly.

A guy I work with keeps saying that his dad was muslim when he (guy at work) was born so he has muslim blood in his veins. We tried explaining to him that religion doesn't have a blood line its a choice. Of course he argued and insisted that because my family and I are christians we have christian blood.

Is there a way to convince the moron that religion is a choice not a race or nationality?

Online translators render it as "5p in your skin", which doesn't make a huge amount of sense, maybe it's just a saying in France that means something different from the literal translation?

He said: "Unless you assume a God, the question of life's purposes is meaningless". Does this mean that atheists do not believe that life has any purpose. That's pretty sad, I would say? So I can just off myself now and get it over with?

There are 5 girls in my 8th grade class/grade (small private school).

I want to get them all gifts but they should pretty much all be close to the same. Like goody bags only better. I'm just getting the guys in my class candies and stuff.

My mom used to sell makeup so she still has some free samples left over.

-I'm gonna put some free sample eye shadows in there.
-also each girl will get a lip gloss? what colors are best for light skinned people, medium skinned people, and a black person? I'm not good at makeup.
-I'm also putting some chocolates in there.

My main questions is what else can I put in there that's cheap? What about a 5 dollar starbucks gift card for each girl? what else?

prophet muhamed was never a terrorist. i have read a lot of anti-muslim articles on internet saying prophet muhamed is a terrorist. to find out the truth i bought some 20 books on wars at that time and have gone through almost all the wars foght between muslims and anti-muslims. when muslims were then forced to leave mecca due to the intolerant rulers there they settled in media, even then they had to face the evilness of the meccan. the would kill and loot a muslim when ever seen. muslims never fought a war then and when atlast god (Allah) gave permission for muslims to wage war only for SELF PROTECTION and TO SAFE GUARD THEIR NATION AND RELIGION this also count to help their non-muslim neighbous, friends, partners and comrads. after god gave permission muslims never went on war without reason most of the wars were started by anti-muslims mostly meccan and jews. the total number of people died in wars fought by muslims at that time was 1018 (259 muslims -759 anti-mulsims)

If a group of employees are on their break and in the break room, and the common topic is religion (any and every faith) is there anything wrong with that. If an atheist employee joins these conversation, and the others do not agree with his statements or do agree with them; does that necessarily mean that the atheist is right and the others are wrong/ the atheist is wrong and the others are right?
