A guy I work with keeps saying that his dad was muslim when he (guy at work) was born so he has muslim blood in his veins. We tried explaining to him that religion doesn't have a blood line its a choice. Of course he argued and insisted that because my family and I are christians we have christian blood.

Is there a way to convince the moron that religion is a choice not a race or nationality?

So what you are asking is if you should waste your time arguing with an idiot?

Hmmmm?

You really should not need help figuring this one out.

First off, there is no possible way to make someone change the way they think. Only they can do that. You can offer up advice, and help them to see what is considered to be correct, that's about it.

Second, this is actually pretty interesting. I honestly kinda like this guys way of thinking. Granted, there could never being anything as "muslim blood" or "christian blood", as it's all the same thing. But, as far as religions being a classification for a race, that's interesting.

I say this because (I live in amerika, land of "if we don't like you we'll invade"), here people are reffered to as "white, black, hispanic" or a nationality (asian, russian, etc). Though, in reality, I've never, ever, seen a white or black person. Seen people with different hues and colors, but never white or black. And, if we are reffering to races as colors, how come it's only these two groups that are reffered to as a color. How do you think it would come off is you walked up to an Oriental person and called them a "yellow" person? Not to well, I'm sure.

This is one of my pet peves, cause I'm French (with Celtic ancestry), and I hate it when people try to reffer to me as "white". I'm not white, I'm French. France is not an arian nation, therefore I can not be "white" or "caucassion".

Anyways, I'll get off the soap-box, now...:) Just my two cents.

We are here on this Earth to understand one anothers' point of view, not to force them down one anothers throat. He should probably learn about Christianity, just as you should probably learn Islam. Sure, for us religion is a choice. For him and many other Arabs, being Muslim is not only a religion, but is a nation as well. They're beliefs are similar to the Hindus in that God exists in and around everything, and everything is one. Check it out you both may learn something from each other.

Forget it, don't waste your time. Muslim and Jehovah are the religions that can not accept the reality and most of all they are always " RIGHT ". Be careful he may think you are the devil because you are not baptise or join their religion. This incident had been around for many years. Ask your self how can you obtain a drip of blood from a stone????

Just accept that from time to time a stubborn, uneducated dolt (like many religious people) will come into your life. Be compassionate and accept him for the moron that he is. Stop wasting your precious time debating with this stupid person. Since you work together and can't always avoid him and his vacuousness, try to at least avoid talking about religious issues with him. Change the subject or excuse yourself and simply walk away. Don't engage him - that's a losing battle because believers are illogical and unreasonable. Good luck!

Doubtful. Muslims make the silly claim that everybody is born a Muslim. Of course, the reality is that everyone is born an agnostic: knowing nothing about god, and caring not at all.

Sorry but when a moron is set up his mind it is very hard to make him understand the facts. What you can do is set up a clear and to the point chart and if he still feels the same way then he is a lost case. Good Luck

Mention that if a Christian and Muslim gave samples of their blood, Doctors would not be able to distinguish any religious traits.

Just let him keep bragging about that "Muslim blood" loudly enough around a certain type of people and the problem will remedy itself.

Nope once an idiot always an idiot. Morons are set in their ways no matter what you say. Just look at atheists. (I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT I SAID THAT FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF MAKING PEOPLE MAD> IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO RESPOND THEN PLEASE BY ALL MEANS PRETEND LIKE I CARE AND HAVE AT IT!)

HAVE A NICE DAY.
