is it a fair assumption for me to make that Adam was more my skin colour (earthen) than the skin colour (the colour of sand (whitish) in my homeland) of my youngest son.

just a thought that popped into my head...LOL

What's the point in taking away "Merry Christmas"!? Going against freedoms of speech and religion to please some minority groups...sickening.

Christians come to our church and don't believe in animal sacrifices because they say the Son of God did away with animal sacrifices. I believe in the Son of God too and know He believed in all the commandments including sacrifices of animals and know He agreed with them!! This is soooo frustrating!! I'm tired of hearing the men argue!! :(

He is very thoughtful and nice so I feel i should get him something. he doesn't watch sports but plays hockey, soccer, volleyball he has money so he has everything he wants. Some one suggested i get him a coffee table book :/. I want to find a book that teaches ramdon stuff about life, the world. i want a good fun book. he told me he likes to learn ramdon stuff. He has spent a lot on me on dates he is taking me to see a ballet next week. and is taking me to his holiday work party. He is special to me. But i don't have much money like he does, HELP please what do you recommend? any ideas?

I have been thinking about MLK's platform, if you will, and I think that it would not be applicable today. I believe it would be outdated. So much has changed since then. I'm sure he thought by now race wouldn't be a factor, but it still is and it is irreversible. His dream was basically for us to be colorblind, but that is impossible. Do you agree? What do you think?

They don't care if you're paralyzed or blind. People here on Y!A always tell others to get off their lazy @$$es & get a job. They don't know our circumstances. They think we're just lazy & leeching off the government for free. I'm neither blind nor paralyzed, but I am disabled to the point where I can't get a job. I'm tired of people on here telling me, "Stop leeching off of our tax dollars & go get as job!" or "Stop stealing our tax dollars & do your own damn work!" You don't know how much I'd LOVE to work. I can't force anyone to hire me & give me a job. I have a college degree, so that at least says something about me trying to put forth effort in improving my life.

I asked a question a few minutes ago about my landlord mistakingly charging me extra rent, & this 1 asshole said, "We're tired of paying your rent. Katrina is history!" She never paid a penny of my rent. Yeah, I went through Katrina & we're still eligible for assistance. I also get SSI & Social Security until I work.

africa has a religious policy on contraception, and look at the chaos and mass death caused by AIDS because of it!

people can practice their religion, but religion should NOT influence political policy, because religious belief is NOT based on objective evidence

the scandinavian countries have the most successful societies in the world because of a strong sense of social responsibility and NO meddling and interfering from religious groups

the USA is a disjointed mess of a society because it is the exact opposite to countries like sweden - no sense of social responsibility and considerable influence from religious groups. heck, the man in charge is a christian fundamentalist who gets his instructions from an imaginary space ghost with gas legs!

a quick look at rates of poverty and crime and murder and healthcare performance etc will demonstrate the difference between USA and scandinavia in glorious technicolour

For those of you that don't know, irreducible complexity states that something as complex and fine tuned as a body organ (like an eye) can't be reduced in complexity (made simpler) or else it would be rendered useless (like removing a cog from a clock mechanism).
This of course is an argument against evolution, since evolutions states that living things gradually become more complex over time. Darwin however, dismissed this argument with a simple explanation. And you can easily observe a human becoming more complex inside the womb as he starts out from a single cell, simple -->complex.
But that's beside the point.
Since this argument says that simple things can't give way to more complex things, it implies that god would have to be more complex that the universe, meaning something of even greater complexity would have to create him, and so on.

you dont have magicians and astrologers influencing political decisions and having their wishy washy hocus pocus being taught in schools, so why religion?

if you want to learn about old fairy tales, you can do it in your own time. school is a place for LEARNING. knowing every chapter of the bible wont help you in the real world, whereas a biology A level is needed to get into uni to train to be a doctor

until religion and state are completely divorced the world will always be a violent mess
