I have about 80 hours of community service to finish up and I no longer have a babysitter for my 4 year-old since I just moved here to Downtown Savannah.

I'm a good person in a bad situation: I took the wrap for my sister so she wouldn't go to jail, now I've got community service to do.

I'm brand new to the area - from NJ - and I want desperately to have this finished in 2 weeks (before my husband comes home from Iraq).

Does anyone know what I can do where I can bring my daughter with me safely? Driving people to the Dr? Working at the library? Phone Numbers? Contact info is a HUGE help!!

THANK YOU!

Are you automatically over critical of question or comments because they come from atheists or theists. Not on purpose, but by a self conscious habit. Are you automatically accepting of questions or comments because they come from atheists or theists? Is it easier for you to be judgemental of another opinion, but can't compel yourself to judgemental of your own opinion?

I see this theocracy fear posed by alot of nonchristians and was wondering what it is based on.
We managed to have school sponsered prayer for many years, people arrested for homosexual acts, abortion banned and never did we become a theocracy. Now we have legal and unlimited abortions, gay marriage will one day soon be an American reality, we have dropped school sponsored prayer, governments, schools, and even the secular establishment have abolished the words Merry Christmas and have replaced them with more benign, less specific references (winterfest, holiday season, etc) A ton of politicians espouse "god" and as long as God is watered down and not too much in the public square its "ok" otherwise some Christians are made to look like hatemongers for having opposing opinions. My question is where is the fear that there is going to be a takeover by the Christian right and a formed theocracy? Is it not clear that Christianity in its true form is just not that popular anymore?

I personally think after all my years of experience, that many people who claim they have God or know God or are religious, are using it as a crutch and are hypocrites, or unhappy people who are using the whole God thing in all the wrong ways and turn out to be the most ungodly or hateful of them all.

I mean how many people carry crucifixes or wear them, who are serial killers and gang bangers?

How many total godless souls enter churches and basically look like they're mocking God.

How many families, how many kids, think of God as nothing more than a Santa Claus type of figure?

I personally think that unfortunately, not even people who are religious or of "god" can be nice.

It all varies.

Ever wonder why the truly successful and happy in life don't go around throwing bibles in people's faces or boasting about their "godliness"?

THey have something called common sense.

And, they keep the relationship to themselves or those who will hear.

The loud ones = ****

You can look at it as divine, or scientific intervention. Whichever makes you more comfortable.
Before anybody asks; I would not.

Alright. First id like to point out im a Christian but not an extremist. I go to church a few times a year but ive never read the bible all the way through i dont get up and go every week to church etc. I recently heard of a new movie called "The Golden Compass" that is coming out and i decided to read up on it to see what its about because it reminded me of Chronociles of Narnia by the preview. Soon i found out that this is a movie about pretty much trying to kill God. I went on Yahoo answers and many people were mad that Christians were getting worked up about this because its just another opinion but let me put this into perspective. What if i wrote a book about killing the leader of a country or about even killing your parents and presented it into a positive light? I wouldnt be commiting a crime but i hope it would still upset you. My question is, why are people actually getting mad at christians for defending what they believe is true and holy?

LONDON (Reuters) - Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, leader of the world's Anglicans, has launched an attack on the United States, saying it has lost the high moral ground since the September 11 attacks in 2001.

Asked in an interview with the Muslim lifestyle magazine Emel, if he thought the United States had lost the high moral ground since the 9/11 attacks, he replied "Yes."

I am not sure I believe why the Archbishop states we have lost our Moral Ground but I know we have lost it and that is why you see the USA in a fierce struggle with the Un-godly
And you?

The God Delusion, biologist Richard Dawkins entertains another possibility of reason for life on earth, inspired by work in astronomy and physics.

Suppose, Dawkins says, the universe contains a billion billion planets (a conservative estimate, he says), then the chances that life will arise on one of them is not really so remarkable.

Furthermore, if, as some physicists say, our universe is just one of many, and each universe contained a billion billion planets, then it's nearly a certainty that life will arise on at least one of them. Life is a chance. God did not help at all for there is no proof there is a God.

Question: Do you think religious/delusional people should be made fun of at every opportunity?
I do.
Shame is a powerful tool. Ask any psychologist.
I think, every single chance we get, we should make fun of them mercilessly for being the stupid and ridiculous sheep that they are. I think we should point out every flaw in their stupid stories and books. I think we should never let up on them. They should continuously be told how ridiculous their beliefs are. We should take every opportunity to interject a little reality into their existence. We need to take back our planet. Let's make them the minority.
I look forward to a day when people who profess a belief in an imaginary deity are looked at like the village idiot who runs around town shouting that the world is flat.
I'll say again what I keep repeating here: Ignorance and fear will NOT survive intelligence and truth...

Is it time we took a stand against ignorance towards people with disabilities? Seriously, what has happened to common sense and human decency? I am tired of being misunderstood, patronized, hassled etc. I am tired of going place that are inaccessible on all different levels. Who agrees that we should take a stand and tolerate nothing less than equality?
