haha I don't know, I think its reasonable. Many of those types of people though are not really following the word of God, therefore many probably realize that on some level, and are afraid of others beliefs. I know personally I am a christian, and I have gotten into many an argument with these people. I find it kinda fun to talk to them, but maybe that is because I have no friends, and nobody ever visits me. *sigh*

I'm Jewish, and I love it when missionaries visit my door. I invite them in and ask them to sit at my kitchen table. Then I explain that each week, Jews around the world study the same section of Torah. I ask them if they would like to study it with me.
I read a verse in Hebrew, and translate it to the English. Sometimes I explain particular words and how they can mean different things. Other times, I give some background. Never do I say anything that is against what they believe.
One time, after doing this, a couple of christians asked me why Jews don't go door to door. I told them I just sit at home and wait for G-d to send them to me.
I've never had a bad experience with missionaries. They can stop by my house anytime.

That is interesting. Because I would be delighted to talk with you if you came to my door. Those who do not go for your offer may not feel you are serious. We get all manner of responses at the door, you know. But if I knocked on your door and you told me that, I would encourage you to visit me. I would ask you for a day and time so I could try to be home. I am serious.
As for the driver's license part, may I ask, what is that all about?
Somebody above mentioned something about a professional fee of $200. Wow. Jesus taught his followers to carry out their work free of charge.

You make an excellent point.
I'd ask them for $200 cash, which is my professional fee to evaluate their religion.
I once had a pair of JW knocking on my door on a Saturday morning, really early, and this guy lectured me about John 1:1 in the original Greek and then when I handed him my Greek New Testament he could not even find the Gospel of John.
Proving he knew nothing about Greek and only had a memorized speech.

Cant speak for other religions but the mormon missionaries are taught (least when I was one) to bear testimony and then leave when they hit a person who is on the hostile side or the confrontational side.

If you want to come to my door, fulfilling Jesus' commission to preach the word, then I will be happy to talk to you. I talk to the Mormons whenver they come to my door; which is only about 2 in the last 10 years.

The mormons come to me all the time. When I show them the truth, and where they are in error, they usually leave in a hurry and they dont come back. At least those 2 boys dont come back.

Cut these guys some slack, why don't you. They do this stuff because they are terrified that if they don't their deity will punish them horribly for eternity. This delusion causes them a lot of suffering. Wouldn't you have more compassion for people suffering frightening delusions for medical reasons?

I am not rude to them but I politely say no thanks. I give them credit though, they really believe in what they are doing. Or, in some cases, have been brainwashed real good...

They have been taught to ignore sarcastic people. I think it was the apostle Paul who said they should wipe the dust from their feet and move on.
