I was almost never going to church for the past 10 years. I still believed in God during that time, but now that I'm back in church I'm really finding my faith strengthened and that my spiritual life is improving.
I originally left the church because people in the church I was at were very hurtful and destructive, and after that I couldn't find a church that really seemed to notice I was there or reach out to me. I moved recently though and found a church that is so warm and loving, I'm incredibly happy to be there.
If you're really following your belief in God, but aren't in church for a REALLY good reason, I think that's totally understandable. But I hope that eventually you'll find a church that supports you and gives you an outlet for whatever your strengths and needs are. Being with people you can share with and who understand you, and who build up your faith is a really great thing. Best wishes for you!

No you don't have to go to church to believe in God. Jesus said that even the demons in Hell know that God is God. However if you truely want to worship God and give Him all your praise then you should probably go to church. Another example is a lot of people in other countries such as China and in parts of Africa are persucuted and put in jail for being christians. They believe in God but don't go to church(cause they can't). hope this helped

I would say that the desire to fellowship in a church is a fruit of being saved and indwelled by the Holy Spirit. Exactly what "god" is it that you believe in? If you have no desire to be in a Christian church, then I think it's safe to say you aren't a Christian. Notice I didn't say, "if you aren't going to a Christian church..." Sometimes, depending on where a person lives, it can be difficult to find a Biblically sound church. Honestly, anywhere that 2 or more are gathered in His name (the name of Jesus) He is there with them.

NO you do NOT need to go to church to BELIEVE in God. BUT when you do believe and love the Lord, you will WANT to be in His house every week enjoying the worship service and fellowship of other believers....

Do you have to believe in god to go to church? No, but it defeats the purpose.

No.
With what's being taught (church doctrine, not God's) in some churches, you'd be better off not going.
However, if you can find a good Bible teaching church, you’re very fortunate, latch onto it ... these seem to be a dying out fast.
Yours in Christ!

I go to church because I DO believe in God.
Because I want to be around God's people and of course because God told me to attend.

I think that if you beleive God AND you desire to please Him, you would be worshipping Him....
Hebrews 10:24-26 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

believing in God is supposed to be a personal relationship. it comes by reading the Bible and trusting in God. it comes by worship and offering praise, that can and should be done at home as well as at church.
believing in God, results in living the way God outlines for believers to live.
if you are not doing that, or not desiring to do that... then you perhaps need to more closely examine your concept of "believing in God."
.
christians do not have to attend church to believe in God. many who are infirm dont attend. many, like myself, dont have a church to attend.
.
not attending church does not mean that's its okay not to fellowship, not to worship, not to pray, not to read your Bible, not to give into the gospel.
but fellowship with other believers is essential.. to have mutual support and fellowship.. to worship together, to minister to others.
.
each christian must endeavor to get involved however and wherever they can.
i read my Bible, and pray, and i have fellowship with family believers, and fellowship by online christian boards. i get teachings from internet and snail mail. and i send money via snail mail.
