The God Delusion, biologist Richard Dawkins entertains another possibility of reason for life on earth, inspired by work in astronomy and physics.

Suppose, Dawkins says, the universe contains a billion billion planets (a conservative estimate, he says), then the chances that life will arise on one of them is not really so remarkable.

Furthermore, if, as some physicists say, our universe is just one of many, and each universe contained a billion billion planets, then it's nearly a certainty that life will arise on at least one of them. Life is a chance. God did not help at all for there is no proof there is a God.

Dawkins is talking about Drake's Equation, which basically postulates that since there is life on this planet, and there are so many planets, there is a possibility of life elsewhere. Of course, we know this planet exists, and that others exist, so we have some evidence, but, as you say, we have no evidence whatsoever for even one god, let alone more than one. The God of the Gaps is just a way that some people have of explaining what they don't understand, or what is not yet understood. It's pretty intellectually lazy, particularly when the burden of evidence rests with the one making the claim that something exists, and they do nothing to prove it. I think that's because it can't be proven, because religious faith is delusional thinking; in fact, in some cases it borders on schizophrenia.

Some people believe that God is a delusion. I believe humans are clueless as to what God might really be and that all religions are really only guessing. I define "god" as the natural universe - if you deny that exists you are either kidding or deranged.

Richard Dawkins can think whatever he wants to, but I think that the fact there is life on our planet, let alone the possibility of life on millions or billions of planets is still miraculous. After all, how many of us can create a universe? It might be completely natural, but its still amazing.

God has to be a delusion. If He were real, then they'd have to rethink their entire philosophies of life. Ever read Lee Strobel? He tried to DISPROVE "creationism" and instead PROVED it!

Have a blessed day.

Two things. One, you answered your own question, making this rhetorical and therefore in violation of the community guidelines. Someone could rightfully report this question. Two, Dawkins assumes that life appearing on other planets somehow negates God's existence. It is interesting that someone who is trying to make a "scientific" argument would make such an irrational leap of logic. He also ignores that most people who believe in God do so due to personal experiences. How many planets have life on them in the universe it totally irrelevant to their beliefs. So who cares?

I am well aware of what Richard Dawkin's book (The God Delusion) says, as I've read it a couple of times myself, but I don't suppose you have an actual question?

Because there is no evidence for God(s) existance, and no God(s) are needed to explain the universe.

Lemme think, There are billions of people, each with 'knows' there is a god or gods, and each have a concept of a soul, and thus there is a god or gods, and there is a soul.
