Not if it's forced on EVERY child. When I was at secondary school I had to go to Christian assemblies on a Thursday and Friday and I always felt a bit uneasy, cos I knew at the age of about 14/15 that I didn't believe in God.
If you give a choice to a teenager (maybe 14 years old) about whether they want to be in a particular act of worship, then yeah, but what about those that have no religion? Then again you might just get some kids who say they have no religion but just say it to avoid worshipping...and some kids may not have reached a decision on their faith so...yeah sorry for the confusing answer.

Er, no. Just no. If schools want to have a daily act of worship, then let them, but not every school CAN. Keep in mind that some are schools of mixed religion ~ it would be hard for them to have an act of worship for one religion as well as all the others.

Yes schools' daily act of worship should be continued to be "offered", and parents rights to have their children not attend the service"should be maintained. (should also be stronger measures to tackle any discrimination/bulling that often occurs as a result)
What/how the act of worship is done is a problem. It can only really be resolved by the teacher leading the "assembly". Good teachers will do well, bad teachers less so.

I doubt this would be practical ,there are so many different religions, because of the different races within schools ,that they would have to have to have worship going on all day every day. Also Jehovah's will not attend a christian worship,so there are just two that would need to have separate worship times. How long do you think a worship time should take ,not forgetting the school day is only7-8 hours?

Agreed.
All Schools should have a law ‘ stating that schools must have a daily act of worship ‘ . Then we can easily divide the Deluded from those who can think for themselves .
Burn one half at the stake and keep the others.

This law has existed for well over a century. Maybe repealing it is not a huge priority but I agree it should not be enforced. If my child was made to pray I would insist they refrain from putting her through the pointless, damaging exercise.

No. Because what if they worship in a way that's against another's religion? What if in a class someone's Christian, another's Muslim, one's Wiccan, another's Buddhist, and the last is Hindu. You can't worship in a way to satisfy them all.

Which religion?
England is multi-cultural and if you have an act of worship for one religion, you would have to have an act of worship for all religions
