In general, humans are inherently evil. One need only be a parent to discover this fact.

We're inherently Human. Good and Evil does not come into play till you observe another persons actions. And that doesn't happen till they are of an age that they understand that what they are doing is either Right or Wrong. Stealing is wrong. But if a small child does not know it is wrong, we still consider them innocent and try to teach them that taking the candy bar without asking is wrong.
How people can say we are born inherently good or evil obviously do not understand the impact of family and our enviroment on us as we grow up and that it is this impact that ends up playing on us, rather than our birth alone.

This sounds like nature vs. nurture to me. As a christian, we are tought that you are born, innocent, without sin. Now the debate is still open as to when we are actually old enough to truly know the difference between right and wrong, and become sinners. Though you have to know what you are doing to understand if you are sinning.
Personally though, while I do believe it is possible to be born evil, I think its rare. I am more of a nurture person, and believe that circumstances, or other things lead to somebody becomming evil.
So yes I believe that people can be truly evil. I do not however think many humans are truly good. I think we would not be human if we were. I belive that infants and young children are for the most part, because they do not know any better.

I used to think people were inherently evil. Just watching nightly news seemed to confirm that. But as I learned other belief systems, my opinion changed. I like the Jewish belief that people are born with the potential to be good or evil. That natural human drives are not evil, and we have a conscience. It is only when the conscience does not balance the natural drives that people become "evil."

The Bible says :"Every one of them has turned aside; They have together become corrupt;
there is none who does good, NO, NOT ONE"
Ps. 53:3
Sin came into the world when Adam and Eve Sinned. The human nature is inherently evil.
Though there are some wonderful "GOOD" people in the world, still you have to be aware, in God's sight, NO ONE IS GOOD....

The human heart is inherently evil according too the Bible.
No one truly knows to what depths they will stoop for survival, or to escape authority over us.

Humans are inheritantly bad.
Why do I think so?
Look at little kids who are growing up. They will naturally do things which are bad. They will hit other kids, make fun of other kids without thinking of their feelings, they will steal and take things. That is why we have kindergarten and school to teach kids to do things which are acceptable or otherwise known as good. It doesn't always work out.
Also, the Bible says that evil comes from the heart of men, and that all humans are bad by nature.

Both and neither. Some people are more one way than the other, but all humans are a mixture. Even so, good and evil are abstract concepts that no real thing can actually embody.
