OK...treat God and Jesus as 2 separate beings(even if you don't believe that)...

When you were a child, do you remember anytime when you felt at perfect peace? like for me I can still remember a beautiful sunny day when a small plane flew over my house I can still remember sitting under the tree looking up and feeling a total sense of peace around me. I would have to say that when I am filled the Holy Spirit, even though around me can be totally caos, I would be brought back to the same kind of peacefulness I felt when I was a child. Like the world was lifted off my shoulders and I no longer have any worries.

What does the Bible say saves? The physical act or something else?

Think about it: When an atheist commits a crime, it was entirely his own doing. But when a believer commits what humans deem to be a 'crime', he may have been acting on what he thought God Himself was telling him to do. So isn't it logical (there's that word again, atheists!) that atheists should be held 100% responsible for their crimes, but believers shouldn't carry all of the blame for some of their actions?

I'm not sure about the whole "saved" process - from what I know, once you're saved you're forgiven of all past sins, right? Since, according to Christianity, humans are always sinning, how many times can someone be "saved"?

I have seen many people on R/S make the statement that they used to be a Christian. Could you please explain how you became a Christian and then how you became a non-Christian. What is your definition of a Christian. How do you know that you were ever a true Christian?

I asked this the other day but didn't get much of a response...

I've noticed that many Wiccans call themselves Celtic and others say Wicca itself is Celtic. I was just wondering which parts of what you do, you believe to be of Celtic origin?

Many Catholics have chastised those like me and arrogantly corrected our 'lack of understanding'.

They say the Catholic Church is the Fountain of all Churches.
They say the Catholic Church gave us the Bible.
They call me a Protestant.
The call me a heretic and schismatic.

I ask them point blank questions from the Bible and they either ignore or slander. Very very few respond with meaningful posts and point to scripture. There are some that do, but very few.

The "Well duh, you should know this, the answer is obvious" atittude shines through in the vast majority of posts.

Upon what basis should I get it. If I know the Bible & I know history, then the Catholic Church has a profound credibility problem. When I point this out they try to lump me in with Protestants and their lack of credibility.

I am a non-catholic and non-protestant.

So as a person living in the 21st century, whom should I believe between the two choices of the Catholic Church or the Bible?

what the hell is wrong with those idiots. all you have to do to get attacked by a shark is going to places where they're notorious for attacking people like south africa and do everything experts tell you not to do like wearing bright bathing suits, sparkly jewlery, having an open cut which is putting blood in the water, and have some dead fish or shark prey some where on your body. getting struck by lightening hardly happens to anyone they're definatley not as often as how many shark attacks happen every year. which one do you think has the greater risk? and why do you think people say this nonsense?

First, to Athiest. I know that you don't believe in God, the Bible or anything else associated with it. Since I have said it for you please, look and exit out. I already know and don't need to see you tell me what I already know.

Anyways. In the Bible, God prevents the sun from setting in the sky and allows his people an extra hour to conquer their enemies. Would this be the first example of Daylight savings time? It would be pretty cool if God thought of it way back then and it took us this long to ketch up with his idea.

I have seen several questions here asking Atheists how we instill good moral values in ourselves and our families.

My question is the same for the Christians here in YA:

How would you instill good moral values in yourselves and your families without the existance of God or the Bible?

This is a serious question. I do not in any way mean to be offensive or rude.

And don't say it's only in the Old Testament.

New Testament:
1 Timothy 2:11-12

Let a woman learn in silence with full submission. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent.

So, if it's sexist, why value it so much? Why allow females to be an inferior sex in your most precious book? Are you sure it's God's word to call females unclean and keep them quiet? For something "HE" apparently did, being the creator?
